    It seems like his meeting with Krennic takes place before the hypothetical action sequence occurs.

    The thing about Darth Vader is that there's no rule saying he has to wear the same suit every day. In all likelihood, he probably has multiple variants, and we don't really get to see him shift between them because that happens off-screen.

    Why would they bother making different suit variants if they weren't planning on explaining it?
    People would just call it a continuity error.
    I get the feeling that they want to explain his slow movement in ANH..

    Geez I don't even want to know why he changes clothes, I just hope he does;).
    And I would ask them to show me the continuity in his clothing style, because he wears different stuff all the time, last seen in RotS, so where is the proof that he wears the same stuff over and over again? I have the slight feeling that this is just nitpicking to show off some deep Star Wars knowledge by discussing robes and capes.

    I'm not nitpicking, I'm pointing out that Vader will get a new suit at some point in the film and I'm sure they will explain it. They hired the guy who made the original Vader costume. Why would they do that if they didn't care for continuity?

    This is evidence for a Vader action scene.

    Yeah I'm just refering in general to the capegate stuff that was around when some people paniced that the filmaker didn't see a Star Wars movie before. The prolem is that they edited some trailer sequences already like the shot from the side where his helmet looked off. I don't know if those shots are from promotional stuff or so.

    IMO, the suit looks exactly like the original one in the trailers.
    That's why it struck me when I saw the EW picture.
    From MSW:
    From a filmmaking standpoint, it doesn't make any sense to randomly change the costume in the middle of the film.

    Darth Vader has never canonically been portrayed as moving quickly. Every time he goes forward, it's a slow march, not a run. And I don't suspect that we'll see him suddenly move around rapidly, even in the rumored action sequence.

    I had no idea noticing a costume variation was "deep Star Wars knowledge". I mean, it's right there on screen. It changes. Some of us are more observant than others and notice consistency/continuity. That doesn't equate to some sort of "I'm more Star Warsy than you" battle.
