It might have legs. If I remember correctly this was how the name Captain Phasma was discovered prior to any official marketing of the character by Disney.

I really hope not. I DO NOT like that title at all.

This is pretty interesting. I hope they pull it off. It will be a relief to finally see Snoke in the flesh.

Bear in mind that they also trademarked a few names that have yet to actually amount to anything. "Valara" and "Mon Destra" were trademarked around the time that marketing on The Force Awakens was amping up, yet nothing has come of either name since then.

Snoke being over 7ft tall will not be kicking Luke Skywalker's butt as the article says.

Luke kicked a Rancor's booty with a rock. Watch out Snokey

I don't know about that. If Snoke is anywhere as strong in the force as Palpy, it may be at least an entertaining confrontation.

It will be different that's for sure. I'm curious as to how Snoke looks and all.

Me to. The puppet Yoda from TESB still looks good 30 years later. That gives me hope that it can look even better with the technical know how of today. Perhaps the Snoke puppet performance will be the new great puppet performance for the middle chapter of this trilogy as well.

The mere fact that they've managed to find a way to get us speculating over Snoke's appearance all over again is BRILLIANT.

Something I've thought about is Snoke's location. I use to believe he was maybe on some ship somewhere, but he has to be near Jakku.

I remember some of the artwork that came out before VII and makes me wonder if he is in a cave or castle, or something. Also they scouted a cave but didn't use it in VII either, so I think Rey maybe gets captured by him.

Wherever it is, it has to be somewhere in the Unknown Regions - that's where the Empire headed after their defeat at Jakku.

The best suggestion until aftermath: empire's end comes out that the retreating empire might have found snoke beyond the unknown regions. Like he was outside the picture but watching things unfold.

Some people think he could be Gallius Rax but we have to wait for the next book.

I kinda hope that's the case, that he isn't a known character and maybe it's more HE finds them...

I like the idea of him as a watcher during the OT and PT.

Because of that and the last track title of the Rogue One soundtrack I speculate about Snoke being one of the Whills gone evil. Once only looking at the events from afar he started looking for a chance to take over this part of the galaxy for himself.

I think it was the TFA book or maybe even something that was cut, that hinted he watched the rise and fall of the empire. Almost like he's a 'student of history'

Don't remember the source yet, but I read sthg about Yoda definitely not being a Whill. As far as I went through the few hints in the web the Whills should be extremely long living "angel"like beings.. (ok Yoda was really old too I know).
But there are still loads of speculative and unknown aspects about this subject :)..
and like @Charlie07 said they seem to be a kind of chronists.
