I was really hoping that Kylo Ren's new helmet looked a bit more different than the one in TFA- which I didn't think looked all that great, but whatever.

Hayden appearing the very same day as TLJ panel. ANAKIN FORCE GHOST IN VIII CONFIRMED!

 

Well in fact the Last Jedi panel is april 14, the panel with Hayden is april 13, but this is a good sign for a possible return of Hayden/Anakin in a movie...

 

Hayden returning as Anakin should make George Lucas a happy guy (since he seems bummed out with the direction Star Wars is going). And actually, I wouldn't mind if Hayden returned for Ep. 8 (and/or Ep. 9). I don't like the idea of cutting off any connections to the prequels.

The only thing this confirms is that LFL, flush with cash after two billion dollar films in two years and ton of merchandise sold, is honoring the 40th Anniversary at SWC in the same classy, inclusive, and savvy way that Lorne Michaels approached SNL 40th: this is a big milestone, and when we celebrate 50th, many of the biggest SW names will likely have died. Let's get everyone we can together and honor the hard work, great art, and ocean of happiness the series has given the fans with the biggest gathering possible.


I'm not saying this because Fisher died. I think her death did bring into stark relief something that anyone who honestly appraises the situation will realize after a few seconds:

Oz, Lucas, Ford, James Earl Jones, Mayhew, Mcdiarmond (sp?), and even Anthony Daniels, Hamill, kasdan, BDW, and Neeson could die in the next 10 years and it not be shocking, given their ages

I hope all of them live another 30 years in good health, but it's just how life is: it ends.

It would be wrong to not invite Hayden. I don't ever, ever want him to appear as Anakin again, but he should be a part of any gathering like this or future SWC or whatever.

LFL is paying him a fee, paying for his transportation, lodging, etc. they are doing that for all these people, and good for them that people like Wedge (actors name escapes me) are being invited.

Samuel L Jackson (also not a young man, Liam N, and Portman are probably too busy to show up, and I think Ford will show only because they will honor Fisher and because they likely said, "this is really it, you're done after this, unless it's your idea."

You can't honor SW history without inviting Hayden, and they obviously offered him a hefty sum, which he needs a lot more than say...Natalie Portman or Jackson.

 

Natalie Portman gave birth to her daughter about a month ago. So it's unlikely she will be attending the Celebration.

 

That's a very good excuse for her to use.

I don't begrudge her wanting to stock close to home in that situation. I will also say LFL would have sent her a private jet and provided any nanny services she requested if she agreed to come to SWC. It's a 36 trip and she lives in LA or NYC. I don't think she had any interest in attending. I hope her and her newborn are doing well and she is allowed all the time she wants to be a stay at home mom. If the kid was 14 I don't think the odds of her showing for SWC would be much higher (and I don't mean that in a negative way).

Spoiler Alert: Mark Hamill is hilarious, loved Carrie Fisher, and will appear in TLJ.

Also, LFL will overcharge for merchandise, treat TLJ information like something you owe them for sharing, and tease something else you will pay them for the honor of selling you.

Also, obesity and virginity will be much more prevalent than in any gathering until SDCC.

 

Oh, I'm not actually going, just talking about the news, trailer drop, etc.

I'm extremely excited about the trailer release, TLJ news etc. myself.

I was just being a smart@$$ because A) it's how I roll B) news is even slower than usual right now because we're almost at SWC and everything is on triple secret lockdown. and 3) calling out KK & her minions on their greedy BS behavior is appropriate and fun. You disagree? Watch Mark Hamill's appearance at SWC 2016. He also calls out how TFA f***d over fans and had huge flaws thanks largely to a hack director and a shameless boss of LFL.

 

I wouldn't read too much into Hayden being at Celebration. The 13 is the 40th Anniversary panel and it makes sense Hayden being there as he is Anakin. It is good to see he is willing to be there.

 

Nothing personal, but that would be such a lazy way to do it.

And it makes no narrative sense.

Also, it requires Hayden to be able to act.

Let me take the third part last: Hayden is a terrible actor. I've seen other movies he's appeared in after SW. He can't act. At all. He's awful.

Next, Kylo is obsessed with Vader. He wouldn't listen to ghost Anakin telling him to be good because A) he considers Anakin the less powerful, more ignorant, and very embarrassing version of his Papa.

Kylo KILLED HIS OWN DAD. He abandoned & betrayed his mentor, Vader's only son, and the person who Vader said "was right" and who Vader both killed & died to protect. He's not going to listen listen to the force ghost version of someone who isn't who he idolized.


If Vader came back as a force ghost, Mustafa style, voice by JEJ, I could MAYBE see Kylo being effected.

And bringing back Hayden to accomplish any of Leia's story responsibilities is so freaking lazy.

"Hmmmm, his mother's gone, his dad is dead....I forget how....let's just bring back his Papa, he was whiny and Emo too"

Hayden is cheap and available just like an ugly fat Hooker in Vegas: no one wants him because he doesn't provide anything the his profession requires.

In his case, that means he lacks the ability to act, the ability to convince viewers he is the character, and the desire from anyone for him to perform the role of "actor."

My car does need washing though.

cant say that I disagree with you all that much. a bit, but I'm not here to argue! Mark was understandably pissed that he has ONE line and 20 seconds of screen time(so was I). cant say that I always agree with the way Disney is handling things either, but I'm also not a shareholder so what the Blast do I know about them running their business. As a fan though, totally with you about the moneygrabbing going on here. But on the other hand, I'm quite pleased with how Rogue One turned out, that Rian Johnson has directed TLJ, and the Lord & Millar are doing the Han film(which I was never really excited for).

I'm just really stoked that we're a few weeks away from finally seeing TLJ footage, honestly. I cant stop thinking about it.

read an interview where he said as much. that after training and growing out the beard and realizing the massive amount of press he was about to do, that when he got his script he was a bit pissed. totally possible that he was just joking and riffing in standard Hamil fashion though.

way to nitpick though, kudos, you belong in the ISB and will have my recommendation should you request a spot at the academy.
