That quote on Luke/Leia sounds a lot more convincing that there will be a reunion.

Yeah I mean, there is no hiding from it now. It's right there. Really have respect for Pabs and it doesn't matter how much he tries to backtrack, it's been captured.

 

Adam Driver was the worst casting ever, other than Hayden as Anakin. I mean, look at that dude. Who could take him serious? Why wouldn't the PTB come up with, at least, a convincing mask for his dumb mug and lack of sinisterism? I just do not get it. I honestly do not get most of the "canon" other than the original three. The prequels were blast, and VII....... don't get me started. Why would they kill off Solo? blast of the bull kind, if you ask me.

And speaking of "canon", I'm 44 and have been a HUGE fan of Star Wars since I was 4. I finally had a "lack" of Star Wars and decided to start reading some of the backstory literature. I'm on the second book of the "Thrawn Trilogy". All I can say, is wow. Why would the story become so political? Why must Leia become a Jedi of all things? How the F did Han become a politician, knowing he is a pirate/smuggler? Where did this BS Jedi/clone, come from? I cannot remember, are the twins mentioned in the movie? What is Ben's sibling doing?

Now, I hear, Mark Hamill was disappointed with the path of his character. I'm sure I agree, lol. I'm old school. I hated the prequels, they were horrible. Ep 7 is questionable atm. One must concede that the Skywalker history will continue into the sequels, otherwise the last 3 movies are out of context.

Why would Luke go into hiding? He was supposedly the last of the Jedi. Leia would be totally believable as a politician with "Emperor" like powers. See.... According to believed, written "canon", she wields a lightsaber and has all of a sudden become one with the force. She is a politician, fer fooks sake.

And enough with the introduction of new aliens. The success of these movies relies solely on the fact that this is a "HUMAN" experience. That is the main reason the prequels failed and were so upsetting. Who cares how many f'n droids or clones are destroyed. F it, make more.

I may just be jaded, or maybe it's because of my age, being that the OT was such a major part of my life and up-bringing. blast, my dad was a cop (CHP). He lived in Del Norte county in the middle of the Redwoods in northern California. There was a tiny little burger stand just up the road (we used to walk there 2-3 times a week) Where the entire cast of ROTJ went to have their lunch every day. About half a mile.

All I'm saying, is that I am a HUGE fan (of the unadulterated OT), and I am just having a hard time digesting the "canon", the prequels, and now the sequels.

In the Force, there really is no "side" One is merely degrees from the other. Light is a degree of dark and vice versa. This is a Universal truth, regardless of the galaxy you're in. I think we will see Luke realize this and teach Rey this in "Last Jedi."

I am only following things here so I am not tracking it close. But it might be a disconnect from what people interpreted he said verses what he said. Particularly regarding Phasma. He said that's now how she looks in TLJ. The implication could be as simple as she's banged up before her helmet comes off. People are jumping to aliens, cyborg and so on.

What are you talking about? Adam Driver is the best actor compared to the new characters. He isn't only a terrific actor, he also looks like Han Solo's kid.
