What seems most likely to me is this is someone explaining the Force to Ridley and Boyega.
Personally, the fact that Serkis says these lines suggests to me that he is possibly playing the older alien character codenamed "Rose" and Nyong'o is the younger one. Of course, it is also possible the younger alien has enough knowledge to fill our heroes in on the nature of the Force, before they embark on the journey to find "Rose" and find out more.
It all depends on how this plays out, but the creatures are described as androgynous looking - it still seems plausible either actor could play either alien at this point.

I think the MakingStarWars description of how the opening plays out is certainly stacking up for me.
So I'd say Boyega and Ridley do all of these things: Meet an alien who leads them to a knowledgeable elder, enter some catacombs, receive lightsabers. It is hard to say what order these things happen in (do they meet the alien in the catacombs, or does he/she lead them through them? do they get the lightsabers before they reach "Rose", or before? do they find out about the Force before any of this, or is that the point of the journey?), there are several plausible combinations, coupled to the fact that it is still unclear which of these two aliens are being played by which actor.

And does all of this, eventually, lead our heroes to Luke?
Perhaps Luke himself is now the McGuffin driving this film, rather than his lightsaber as people once suspected. What if what we thought was a search for an exiled Skywalker was actually a race to find him first...?

 

Which is why I mentioned some of Yoda's dialogue in TESB. Is it a dark character talking, or a neutral/helpful/elder character talking about dark things?
I still think the sage-like character who fills our characters in on what is going down with the Force is the best bet, and best application of this dialogue...
We haven't seen all the concept art related to these aliens that has been described at MSW, and it is looking pretty likely we haven't seen the "elder" blue/grey alien at all for ourselves, just the younger one...

 

Could be based on original Yoda concept art where he was blue.

 

Given what (little) we know about this (these) characters, I reckon it's the closest thing we get to a "Yoda" like figure without actually being affiliated with the Jedi. Just someone who knows their Force, and happens to dish out sabers and/or saber crystals by the sounds of it...

 

I sure can't picture Jabba saying "diddle-dee-dee, pa-TAY-toes!" ... >runs<

 

I said Irish accent because the stand-in for Jabba in A New Hope was Irish.

My guess would be that Daisy Ridley's character somehow gets her hand on Luke's lightsaber. As you can see in the concept art below, she wields a blue lightsaber which could possible be Luke's.

Those are both her character. Here is what I see. The reason the troopers are there is they are trying to track down a person(Kira) Boyega objects and steals a TIE. The bad guy with the lightsaber's TIE. The TIE is his personal vehicle and has some of his personal effects including the Luke/Anakin blade. When Kira finds him she also grabs the box thinking its his. They then take it to Blue Alien Serkis who opens it and when Kira ignites the blade He is utters the trailer line. He then sends them to MVS who gets them on the falcon to take them to Rose who sends them to find Luke.

 

I've been wondering about this ever since I read the book Heir to the Jedi. Luke finds a cross guard lightsaber in a tomb. It's possible that Kylo (if a former student / nephew) was given the lightsaber as a gift at some point. Just speculation on my part.

 

First, "Uber" may be a secret alias or disguise of Darth Plaguis.
Or the Uber character might be a spy/agent of Plaguis(the real main villian).
Also, if Luke created his own new light-saber in the start of ROTJ(1983, deleted scene) there might be a reason why he chose that color.
Also, if "Kylo Ren" is in fact a new character NOT related to Han Solo or Leia, he might be a relation or Count Dooku(Darth Tyrannus). It would explain how he has the $$$/resources to collect Sith artifacts & get the skills-education to find these items.
Id add that Sirkis himself stated in a media interview he has "2" different types of scenes in TFA. One with dialogue, emotions, drama & the 2nd part with dynamic stunts, MoCap work and SFX(action scenes).
This MIGHT be a dramatic light saber battle or combat scene between Uber & Luke or Uber/Kylo Rey and Luke.
