Congratulations, you're part of the problem. Wow, it was really nice to throw out some vague insult without the slightest shred of thought, I can see why you did that.

    k.

Star Wars is a lot of things.

    I think it's cool.

    Your opinion =/= reality.

Here's the first time you droned on like a broken record player.

    Agreed.

    Strike 2.

Miss what, your glaring lack of logic? It's pretty glaring, especially in your decision to ask me if I noticed that.

Do or do not, there is no try. My meaning is that it's happening based off everything we know. Oh, and strike 3.

    Apparently grammar isn't.

And here I thought you had somewhat reasonable points, but it turns out you're really just having a fit. Thanks for clearing that up.

I think it's important to note everyone that this movie has likely been worked on since the year 2013 and the movie has probably been one of many Anthology Concepts since 2012, meaning there will be at least 5 years of work put into this movie. They are not throwing this together out of the blue. "The screenplay is written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan. The story focuses on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley." This was written in the present tense meaning at least a draft of the script is already done. That's a very promising commodity for a movie that is coming out in 3 years. Jon Kasdan was probably working on this around the time Force Awaken was being written by Lawrence and Lawrence has likely since been revising the script. That's just a guess. But it makes sense with the way the timeline is good.

The point is, don't be in denial. The movie is going to be great. It isn't a question as to will this movie be good. It's a question as to whether the movie is necessary.

A movie has to prove to me that it's good or great, i don't like assume that it's going to be. It has to work and earn descriptors from me, like Mad Max Fury Road.

Ok everyone saying Ford is Han Ford is Indy... Did you never see the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles? Those were great(for what they were) and the actors did well. I'd also say River Phoenix was pretty damn good as young Indy in Last Crusade. So to say it can't be done well... that's just ignorant. A great many actors could inhabit the role and do so without tarnishing Ford's version of the character and in fact enhance it,.

your examples have many years between the old and the young character. Much easier tobe believable then 30 years old Han vs 20....

I'm more open for a Indiana Jones movie. Its just there are lots of other new things i would love to see on the big sceen for a Star Wars movie, i already got enough Han Solo and i'm going to get even more with epi 7. I feel like i'm going to be an angry old man before i get to see a really new original fresh Star Wars movies.

Writing responses to you doesn't require much thought, no, but the folks pushing for a Lil' Solo movie are indeed a big part of why this franchise will be further run into the ground, which is, indeed, the problem.

    Smug poster is smug.

It isn't crap.....like this idea. And who's being vague now? (Hint: it's not me)

That's cuz you're lobotomized and seemed to have caught Marvelitis. You know...that thing where studios try and make a shared movie universe and release multiple films within it that focus on individual stories that lead into larger ones even though that concept doesn't and can't apply to everything?

My opinion on Han Solo = the right one. :)

Here's the 11th time you missed the point.

Uh oh. Keyboard warrior knows the score....

The only thing "glaring" here is your double use of the word.

To answer your question though, uh....no, I'm going to just refer to my original comment, which you even had to quote as you attempted to write a snarky response to an imaginary statement while side stepping the real one.

I asked if you noticed these were all horrible ideas. I guess you DID miss that judging your responses and how in love you are with them. Oh well.

At least I've found the one person in the world who will enjoy the Shia Labeouf as young Han Solo spinoff movie now....and know not to try to communicate with that person and expect a sane response anymore.

I also found the person who can buy two tickets to the Han Solo: New Dawn movie to make up for the one I won't be buying. You enjoy those spinoffs, bro. Drink up. Disney made that milk for you...or at least your money...even if it tastes like Kool Aid. Don't forget to purchase young Han Solo's new DOUBLE blaster making its debut in the film to complete your collection along side your crossguard, swiss army lightsaber.

In that case, put me in the "Do not" category for "do not do this stupid movie".

Oh noes. What happens now? Does da big scary man over da internet hurt me or put me out of the game?

Him am think me use words stoopid! Him argument must be right! Him am feel like big man now to am be right about something in dis thread for wunce but him can no hear me up on pretentious high horse.

No reasonable points were ever made in fits....surely. Though I am glad you're being honest now with your feelings that anyone who isn't okay with recasting Han and a young Han Solo movie is just a giant baby and not nearly as "open minded" and "enlightened" as you. Now you're on page with what everyone assumed about you from the start.

Clarity is why I'm here. We need a little since Disney and the Han Yolo crew seem to lack it.

    For the love of....

It's a movie. It will be made whether or not a subset of fans approve of the concept. Some people will enjoy it and others will hate it before they ever see it. It will be fun for some and the equivalent of making a graven image of the prophet for others.

This is entertainment, not religion. If seeing someone else play Han Solo would ruin the OT for you...THEN DON'T WATCH IT.

But please, don't try to ruin it for everyone else.

there are sensitive people comming here. Only positive reactions are allowed to not tu ruin it for others. I' m sorry then that I ruin the upcomming movie for all the sensitive fellow members with my educated and explainful disagreement. There is a common hate against everyone who doesn' t think the news of the day are great. We all here are fans. The ones who cheer every single Star Wars news can say whatever they want to those who disagree. But those who disagree can' t explain their point of view because it could ruin it for the others? What a democracy. Now I found even the ratings are allowed to give in certain amount, to certain people....I'm against any censorship in a discuss if the parties are behaving good. There are fans who accept literally everything with enthusiasm and that' s great, especially with the creators of this site. I woudn' t expect that someone from the Star Wars site would tell in a discussion that he hates the PT for example. But we, the ordinary fans who visit this site have sometimes different feelings about the news. We could very well be diehard fans and still don' t like some news. And we should be allowed to explain why not. Same with those who likes that news. And it should be equal space to express for both parties. It should be fair. But here I have feeling that only the positive ones are allowed to endessly defend their opinion with arguments and those who disagree are bad people no matter their arguments. We are not in kindergarten, anymore, this happens every day, that people have different oppinion, you should' t be surprised. It should' t ruin it for you. It' s not that someone is telling just blah blah blah just to seed hate. There are solid arguments on both side. And it' s not fair that one side can defend and the other has to shut up. I' m sorry for long post and hope you understand me. No need to be bad to each other.

I gave you a great post vote. Not because I agree with you, but because of your sincerity.

I have no problem with anyone's opinions, but only with the tone in which they express them. Read back through my posts. In a nutshell, I said that I thought the film could be a lot of fun, I understand why Disney is making it, and that it could go very badly if not done well.

Perhaps I should have said more clearly:
Don't ruin the experience of this forum for everyone else. Nothing anyone says on a forum is going to change the movie for me. It will be a personal experience.

And if it helps, my comments were not directed at you.

@Lazlo and @mecano, well said you both! The main reason that we all come here is that we all share a passion for this universe. When there's passion, there's bound to be disagreements. In order to maintain civility, even when things get heated, we should all take a moment or two every now and again to internet-hug-it-out, lest we descend into 4chan-ery and barbarism :)

I'll just say that if "tempers" can't flare on the internet, where no matter what anyone says or how mad someone gets they can't be physically hurt, they really can't anywhere. Internet is one of the last real places you can have true free speech, as it is comprised almost entirely of speech and thought. No one can attack your or your family if you say something they don't like. It's merely a battle of words. If we cannot have free, censor-less speech on the internet, we cannot have it anywhere.

I don't understand why it's only the "Yes" men who get away with smug and derogatory remarks at other posters who aren't okay with the "everything new is good just because it is new!" mentality all of the time.

It seems it is always the deconstruction of icons that is promoted.

If you'll kindly point me to who I was deliberately insulting with that post, I'd appreciate it...as far as I can tell, I haven't insulted anyone.

Other than that, assuming I no longer have to defend my original comments, I don't really have anything else to say in this thread.

Besides....I seem to remember one of you hall monitors telling us to settle down already....and as I recall, I didn't say anything else. Then you came along and had to dig up my post and put your two cents in and tell me to ""stop now" after everything was over for whatever reason.

Yeah its not the ideas that people are opposed to its the no true fan could disagree with me that rubs people the wrong way. After being told in several angry rants that those who disagree with you are dumb, not real fans and mindless yes men I think I understand the response.

Also if the internet is the last bastion of free speech which it appears you think means I can be insulting and bull headed. Why are you bothered that you are getting responses.
