All of this Ben/Han stuff makes me really want to see how he became Kylo. How bad was Han as a dad?

Really I think it was Ben was a troubled kid. Han and Leia didn't know how to handle him so they sent him to Uncle Luke for direction, instead they got a homicidal bratty maniac.

I really liked the scene with Finn and Poe escaping the FO; the whole scene had me grinning. Their boyish bravado and how they learnt to use the TIE-fighther as they flew out of the Star Destroyer.
I also absolutely loved the way Han and Rey interacted, and the scene with Han offering Rey a job.
And the moment when Han and Leia met for the first time after many years, and of course, 3PO interrupting the moment.
...and the emotional, powerful meeting of Ben and Han Solo. And the final scene with Rey and Luke.

Also, Daniel Craig cameo was funny.

Pretty much many things to be honest. :)

It was an interesting scene, as you notice both their hands tighten on the lightsaber. Neither Han nor Kylo let go, and Han attempts to hold it in place, as if to say, "No. You don't have to do this." Yet, Kylo slowly turns it towards his father and sure enough, it happens. Oh snap.

It looked to me as if he was somehow able to maneuver the energy through the exhaust port .

Also, my favorite scene was every scene without Jar Jar Binks .

Watching it the second time, the lightsaber appears to be pointed directly at Han Solo. I am only human, but that is what I saw looking more closely at the scene for a second time.

From what I gathered: The lightsaber hilt is parallel to both Han Solo and Kylo Ren for most of the scene. When the lightsaber is ignited, it is pointed towards Han Solo, and Kylo Ren visibly thrusts it into his father with two hands. I believe Han Solo only ever had one had on the lightsaber.

I was here to write down that definitely, the best scene for me lies during the last 30 seconds, when Luke's face turns to us. All this unbearable waiting, for so many years, which is finally released!! And as one said in this topic: his hair and look were just astounding.

But i've read everything before posting this, and there are lot of deep reflexions among all of these words you guys said. Very interesting quotes. When I'll watch this movie for the next time, I will pay a lot of attention to all that i've read here. You gave me precious stuff.

I don't think he will be redeemed, but I think when he fully realizes that Snoke's intentions for him are self-serving and that his place in the First Order is a sham, he will have regret.

These are great scenes as well. I think they absolutely NAILED Han Solo and Rey - to the point that when Chewie flies up in the Falcon to pick up Rey, it feels "right". And how about Chewie actually playing a part of the action in the movie for a change?

One of my top fav scenes - During Rey's interrogation, When she turns it around You're scared you will never be as good as DARTH VADER...and Kylo's reaction...awesome....I'm sure i misquoted what she said...but its close to that.

"Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope." I don't think I would be able to see that hologram scene without feeling sad lol.

Exactly! Some people have criticized that scene for being cheap or unrealistic.

These people must never have had a child or a close loved one who has struggled with demons. When you experience that type of thing first hand you know that your desire to want to believe the best in them and the pieces of them that you love still exist can overcome all of your better judgement right up until their end.

What Han did wasn't dumb or far fetched, it happens all the time in life which is why that scene was powerful, emotional, and heartbreaking for me.

Interestingly enough we get some more insight into that.
It looks like Snoke had his eyes on little Ben from very early on and he consciously cultivated any tendencies he found.

Han fled the trouble and Leia sent Ben to Luke, hoping he could help her son.

Maybe that's why Kylo hates Han because his dada left him when he really needed him the most .

My understanding was that Han and Leia sent Ben to Luke together. And that Han and Leia went their separate ways afterwards, as they both felt like they had failed to be a family, and that they had to go back to what they previously succeeded at in life.

Hey, if it's a Skywalker or Solo, they call it a troubled kid. If it was Finn, they'd probably label it terrorism. :p

I love that shot, I love the reflection of the sabers in her eyes after she acceptance who she is, and who she will become. I love that whole light saber fight and sequence. I think that duel, honestly, might be my favorite in the whole series. Only because of that character acceptance she does.

First post. Saw the movie today and have to say I really enjoyed it. Probably more than I was expecting. I have to mirror the comments earlier that mentioned the thumbs up between BB - 8 and Finn, great scene. As a whole though I would say that Adam Driver knocked it out of the park for me. Both him and Daisy Ridley were great in the interrogation scene and the his monologue and scene with Han were terrific. Really satisfied with the movie and casting. Felt like it put in a lot of info but left so much space for the sequels. The next movie has a lot to live up to! Hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did.
