You know what would be cray? If that vision of KOR that Rey has had to do with hem actually PROTECTING her. But then they turn on Kylo and he has to protect Rey as a result and has to kill all of the seven KOR members which catkin area his soul further sending him to the dark side while Snoke lured him in like w fish from the ocean. Snoke hates that the kor are gone but knows that Kylo becoming bad will be beneficial to them both...so in theory, Kylo becomes EVIL for selfless reasons.

Totally, totally agree. This theory makes more sense than Han going back to smuggling at his age (pathetic).

Or as someone wrote on twitter, a contrabandist. I just learned that new word. Con--tra--ban--dist.

We don't know SW Galaxy social behaviors or codes of conduct, and i will be no judge of those, but the best way to establish Rey Heritage and her dominion over the Force would be considering a Luke and Leya daughter, again we don't know the Galaxy perspective of Inbreeding. You could even establish Obi-Wan or Anakin Force Ghosts as the Godfathers of Rey.

I'm sorry to bring this issue up, the INBREEDING, but i'm so full of genetic heritages theories to establish Rey Force powers; people should keep one thing in mind: genetic heritages are not an issue in human history, they never Schutta and they will never play a big role in what human beings are capable of achieve, Usain Bolt son will not be a super sprinter just like John McEnroe son is not a Tennis Phenom.

Inbreeding as been used in our history as a way to select some physical characteristics from Horses and Dogs, that won't grant the offsprings the potential of their ancesters but could make it easier to achieve that, all Lassie descendents won't be smart and person rescuers but would look a lot like Lassie, again not all of the Secretariat descendents are champions (almost none of them was) but alomst of them would have big muscles and a huge heart (but that won't grant them the hability to run).

Therefore to you all out there searching for an ancester explanation over Rey's heritage, hands down the best choice is going with inbreeding and consider Luke and Leia as Rey parents.

I would prefer Rey to continue the No One, not really caring who her parents were.

It's not important anymore. It was just me reading the different posts and reacting to things. I don't even remember exactly what the post was about anymore.

I believe it's something along those lines. Once he had figured out that this Luke-clone has been staying with the same guy that allegedly ended up with Han's spaceship, he easily puts two and two together and realises that this is the daughter his dear friend Luke lost in the Kylo-betrayal all those years ago.

I believe that Han, Kylo and Lor San Tekka know that Luke had a family of his own when he agreed to train his nephew - but that Leia didn't know that. If Snoke was somehow close to Leia, he could have used her connection to Luke as a "map" to Skywalker. It's curious that Kylo ends up killing both San Tekka and Han before anyone else in the First Order could interrogate them - as if to help keep Luke's secret safe.

There are some interesting bits of dialogue in TFA that seem to suggest that Leia may have thought she knew her brother better than she actually did:

1.) When Han first talks to Rey and Finn about Luke, he says: "I knew Luke..." Then they are conveniently interrupted by Rathtars. And when he gets back to the story later and Rey asks him if he knows what happened to Luke he doesn't answer that question. Instead, he talks about rumours and stories, and then: "The people who knew him the best think he went looking for the first Jedi temple". To me that sounds like a snide remark. He doesn't identify with the people who knew Luke the best, and I'm reminded of the moment in ROTJ when Han complains to Leia that Luke is sharing intimate secrets with her that he doesn't share with Han (which makes Han think Luke & Leia are an item). So I think Leia - who is all crazed about fathers and children coming home - is the one who believes that Luke is looking for the first Jedi temple because she doesn't know Luke has a family of his own and that he went home.

2.) When Han meets up with Leia and the Resistance, and the map in BB-8 is incomplete, Leia seems actually surprised that her brother left her with incomplete information to track him down. She says: "I can't believe I was so foolish to think that I could just find Luke and bring him home", as if Luke's home was with her - to which Han tries to interject something: "Leia..." - only to be cut off by her. So my take is that Han objected to Leia's interpretation of where Luke's home was, and that Leia didn't wanna know (or pretended to, so Han wouldn't spill the beans about Luke's family in public)

    3. Han makes a point to "big deal" Finn about women always figuring out the truth. ALWAYS! So I suppose that applied to Leia as well. I guess she figured out during her last interactions with Han at the Resistance base what Luke and Han have been so secretive about all these years. By the time Rey comes out of the Falcon and Leia embraces her, she has figured out everything.

I don't think Han was sure about Rey's identity until they were safe on Takodana, at which point he asked her what her name was. When she tells him, he immediately takes her under his wing.

My gut tells me that she isn't Luke's daughter. Nor Han or Leia's for that matter.
But what really confirms this for me, or makes me hope it to be the case, is that if she is Luke's then a lot of scenes in TFA won't make sense. Namely, not showing anything like a first scene between Rey and Leia or Rey and Luke. If it turns out she is Luke's and Leia knew, then the way they handled TFA would've been a complete cop out and shows how the plotting got messy. You need to show the reactions of the characters in these kinds of scenarios. The fact is, we won't see how Luke originally reacts to Rey turning up. If she turns out to be his daughter, this is a massive cop out. Showing that they didn't know how to write the scene without it being a giveaway that she is his daughter.

For me, she has to be a child that Luke once sought to train. Her background can be that of some kind of incredible birth story or that she was simply the child of people that Luke knew (she has to be abandoned on Jakku by her parent(s) so if Luke did know of her then he'd know of them).

I personally like both the Chosen One Reincarnated theory and the idea that she really is just a nobody but with a big destiny.
I'm not sure if Han was hiding something from Leia or not, but if he was I don't think it related to Rey. After all, Han was left out of the loop with Leia's choices regarding Kylo.

But if Leia didn't know Luke had a daughter of his own - because he kept is own family a secret for years to protect his kid when it was most vulnerable - then TFA makes a lot of sense. Leia never got around to meeting Rey when Luke first showed her off in public because Rey's introduction to the scene immediately caused Ben's betrayal, and Rey was carried off to Jakku.

That could be the case. But it still leaves the issue of not showing Luke's first scene with his daughter. VIII will start at the very least days after VII, probably weeks. Maybe months.

And when Rey did show up, Luke's reaction to me, looking at the saber, was more about being called back to help out in the fight vs evil. It didn't say - "blast, there's my daughter!" but rather "I knew this was coming, I'm old, beat up, depressed but I have to decide whether to join the fight again".

I know, I felt exactly the same. But that was just the script and the shot and Hamill's acting not quite delivering. The story called for a shot of Luke Skywalker's "incredible face", both kind (daddy!) and tortured (why did I ever take my baby girl off this island in the first place?). How on earth do you act that with your face????? I was so pissed off with that cliffhanger ending I couldn't sleep after the first viewing. I wanted tears! I wanted an embrace!

What I would like is for episode VIII to open with a shot of Luke & Rey in a tight embrace. Completely quiet, only some occasional sobbing. And this is interspersed with a joint force vision (you don't have to hold a lightsaber for that, right?) of Rey's happy childhood on Ahch-to. They can blur it a bit or use CGI to make Hamill look younger. I guess they've written themselves into a corner with Star Wars, with this 30 year break just as Luke Skywalker is in his prime. It would feel like sacrilege to recast Luke Skywalker for a flashback, as long as Mark Hamill is still around. So I guess they have tried to avoid it as much as possible, resulting in unsatisfying plot holes. Still, being the one person who is allowed to play Luke Skywalker should be the one privilege Hamill should have forever.

After some consideration, I've concluded that he probably wanted to say "I still love you", which is quite different from simply "I love you".

Leia seemed to know what he was about to say, since she was fighting to hold back tears.

while i don't think she's reincarnated, you've expressed some big "obvious" storytelling beats here that convince me she's neither Skywalker nor Solo. just from a narrative pov it doesn't make sense to handle these scenes ambiguously for the purpose of some later reveal.

and your read on Luke's reaction to her, i think. is spot-on.
