SPECULATION How important is it to you, that Rey is a Skywalker/Solo?

I think that's why Rogue One was liked as much as it was. It's a war movie that could have easily been a Vietnam War era or WW2 era war movie and worked with only a few minor changes.

 

It won't bother me at all if she is neither, but what will bother me if there is no type of connection at all. I think there is a simple small connection and I don't mean a virgin birth, Obi Wan, etc

 

also there's always so much "men-in-suits" interference from producers and marketers and all that; integrity in the creative vision is nearly impossible to achieve and then just as unfortunately the keys to the castle are too often handed to one-hit wonders who haven't actually proven their ability to tell good stories.

it's why so many indie films continue to outstrip the blockbusters in terms of storytelling even if they can't compete in special effects/star power, etc.
there's a battle in hollywood that continues to rage between the auteur and the myth of the "sure thing".

Well that would be about as simple as it gets, so yes.

 

What if Rey grew from Luke's hand that was cut off in the battle with Vader?

Star Wars isn't exactly known for subtlety and then she'd be the figurative and literal "right and of (the star wars) God", Luke Skywalker.

 

She would obviously be a boy unless the big twist of ep VIII is that Luke was in fact transgenre and Leia's sister from the start

 

Maybe that's why they cut the scene where Luke's hand fell from space. It would've killed little Rey inside.

 

Does this mean that Rey is SW Athena, who came out of Zeus' head?

 

Not necessarily, who knows what the Force could do if it decided to do that...because the force works that way, except for when it doesn't.

 

As tongue and cheek as my post is, would it honestly be any weirder than "Force births" and "Midichlorian manipulated conceptions"?

 

You can create a female clone from male genetic material.

We are talking about cloning/birthing from a hand. Now is not the time to get hung up on the semantics of genetics...

Think about, if a character like Snoke found the hand and used it to breed new Force users with Skywalker DNA (and in theory their midichlorian count...) it would be very workable.

Use Skywalker DNA plus the DNA of a random female force user and he's evil enough to just trash the failed outcomes...It could work

 

Not important either way, but lean towards her not being Darth Vader 's granddaughter.

 

As long as the story is compelling, I don't mind either way.

 

If LFL is truly getting rid of the Skywalker family (as bad as a marketing tool as possible) don't expect GL at the world premiere of X if he's in good health.
