How/when are you seeing TLJ?

I couldn't justify spending $32.00 per ticket on the fan event. I had to order 4 tickets for my son, brother, and nephew, so we are seeing the TLJ at the AMC Prime 3D on Thursday Night Dec. 14th at 7:00 P.M. I do like the sound of the Prime Theaters and how the reclining seats vibrate with the explosions and deep bass sounds. I hope someone will write what the "Exclusive Content" was at the Fan Event on Dec. 14th. My viewing will be in 3D. I prefer 2D, but I know I will see this film at last 3 times in the theaters during its run in the theaters, so I am sure I will see it in 2D as well. I am so excited for this film. I just hope we get to see some Luke Skywalker lightsaber action. Luke is my favorite character, so I would love to see at least one moment of glory by the end of the film.

 

I do not eat or drink anything when I goto the movies anymore. I remember seeing The Fellowship of the Ring and didn't realize it was a 3 hour movie. Lets just say I learned my lesson and never eat/drink again!

Jedi Master tip for all: if you're buying a drink to take into the screening - no matter what size - take only one sip before the start of the film (to save yourself from dehydration) and don't touch your drink again until at least half way through the second act (likely the point where we find out all about the past through Force/flashback sequences) for nothing more than another sip.

Going on from this, stay away from the salty stuff which will dry your mouth and make you want to pick up your drink, whether that be salted popcorn, pretzels, or deathsticks.

 

A morning 2D screening on December 14, which is the official opening day in my country. There's a LOT of evening screenings on 13th, but I like when there are few people so I usually pick the earliest possible. Don't have my ticket yet, because I'm waiting for a brand new cinema to open.

I was tempted by the first IMAX screening (which will be packed for sure) but nope. 1) It's 3D only and I don't like 3D 2) People would probably annoy me. I'll play it safe. Don't want to have that experience tainted by any distraction.

 

I usually go to an advance screening. But seeing how the theater I go to didn't put the tickets on sale until mid day after the trailer came out, I couldn't get tickets until the 16th. They also have it showning on one screen where the TFA showed on at least 6 or 7. Surprised it is only on 1.

 

Looking forward to seeing it on Desember 13, premiere day in Norway, not the first screening though. Did the same with TFA, and the audience actually cheered when the opening crawl started! Not something i'm used to.

 

I’m considering contacting my local cinema to request they keep all doors shut for all sessions of the movie. I’d absolutely hate to be waiting outside for the upcoming session and hear Rey’s parentage revealed from another cinema all because some total twit left the doors open.

 

Friday, December 15 at 4:30 pm EST in 70mm at the Indianapolis State Museum IMAX theater, and I can't wait!

 

9:15 am AMC reserved seating Dec.15 but I'll see it multiple times because there is a theatre by me that doesn't do internet sales or reserve seating; for TFA when all the tickets were supposedly sold out we bought tickets from there with no problem 730pm showing, so I'll go there for my second viewing. I'm working Dec 14, if I get off early I'll definitely see it!

Just booked my tickets for release date! December 14th 22:15!

Btw. They claim the running time is 151 min. Probably it's longer here because they have to list the german dubbing actors at the end.
