how will poe react when he learns kylo ren is leia's son?

In my headcanon they met when they were young lol. In any case, Poe might remember the dark-haired chubby-face kid named Ben but maybe he does not know if he became Kylo Ren.

That might be true.

Personally I don't think he knows Kylo Ren is Leia's son yet. If that is true and he finds out after TFA, I agree. From what I've read so far in the comics and on "Before the Awakening", Poe admires Leia and sees her maybe like a motherly figure - having lost his own mother at a young age, and being the case that Leia fought with his mother right after ROTJ.

That's correct: only them know that Vader turned back to the Light Side and killed the Emperor.

And obviously those Centrists knuckleheads despise Luke since they look the Empire as the perfect government system. They remind me of those Death Eaters and pure-blood fanatics that pretended going back to normal while secretly worshipping The Dark Lord and despising The Boy Who Lived (sorry for the Harry Potter reference lol).

If Poe doesn't know yet, hopefully the reveal plays out like the first encounter between the two. Another "so who talks first? I talk first? You talk first?" type dialogue would be gold

Poe grew up on Yavin 4, I bet they never crossed paths, maybe a Life Day card here and there or whatever they celebrate between families. I can't imagine that they grew up together. I never knew any of my father's army buddies families kids.

at the end when a redeemed Ben returns, Poe kills him in cold blood. A horror movie ending with a bloody scene after an supposed happy ending.

 

Poe might start asking lots and lots of questions.

 

I think Kylo Ren might have known him. Ren says something to Poe in the torture chair to the effect of "I didn't realize we had the best pilot in the resistance"
to which Poe says "The Resistance will not be intimidated by the likes of you." both say it in such a way that they know each other to some degree. It's possible that they weren't chummy but had met each other every now and again when Ben and Luke would come back from being gone. They may have even had a little rivalry over Leia's affections.

 

The "Before the Awakening" novel indicates Poe had heard rumors that Leia experienced some sort of tragedy. Reading this with Princess Leia- Royal Rebel (where her biographers wanted to respect her privacy) and Poe's Flight Log, it is pretty clear Poe had no direct interaction with Ben Solo till Tuanul village. Leia wrote a letter to the Kes Dameron on Shara Bey's death but again no mention of Ben. I think Poe knew of Kylo Ren but I doubt he'd connect the dots and link Kylo to Leia.

 

I haven't read Poe's Fligh Log, becouse it's not availble in my country. But I've saw some pictures of the pages online.
In one of them, I read that Poe want to talk about Kylo Ren again only "when he's rotting in a prison cell"

So thinking about what Oscar said about episode IX, the revelation of Kylo's true indetity may be what or one of the things that "tests" Poe.

 

assuming that Poe does NOT know, there are 2 trains of thought here for me..

firstly:-
we don't really know how well known KR is to the republic/resistance. Has he been a 'boots on the ground' figure with the FO troops and fighting against the good guys? it's possible that he isn't known at all. This is important from a 'Ben redemption' stand point as well.

Secondly:-
whilst we know that Luke/Leia are good guys to the core, and have nothing but good intentions... if i was in the resistance and found out that after everything that Vader did, his daughter.. general of the resistance had a son who was now high up in the FO. erm... jeez, i'd be pissed!

I would firstly want General Leia removed from power as she has the biggest possible conflict of interest.. fighting against your own son? it would be irresponsible to let her continue in that role.

After what happened in the PT - a sith lord infiltrating and eventually removing the senate, and now what has happened with Leia's son..one would think that there would be a strong feeling among the resistance/republic to ensure that NO force users ever attain a position of power among them again.
