It could go either way. I just assumed...assumed being the key word...that Kylo would be able to see other's memories in a mind probe but not Force visions.

They would still be memories though, right? She'd remember having the dreams. Actually being there must have been a pretty hard case of déjà vu BTW :)

It is - it happened somewhere in the past six or so years before TFA.

That she's subconsciously thinking about the island on Ahch-To suggests, to me, some kind of connection between her and Luke, be it familial or a different kind of relationship (I'm an advocate of the theory that Rey used to be a Force prodigy that was mind-wiped at some point, and it wasn't until her mind probe at the hands of Kylo Ren that she rekindled her strength in the Force). It also explains why it took her less than an hour to find Luke once she entered the planet's atmosphere - she knew where to look because she saw it before.

    That makes sense to me.

Luke had a vision of Cloud City in ESB before actually going there. I figured it was similar to that. She was getting a glimpse into her own future through the Force. The ESB vision was pertinent since it concerned his friends. Could be the same with Rey . . . or not :)
Something needs to explain how she could instantly Jedi mind trick that Storm Trooper so effectively. Her pulling that out of nowhere was a pretty massive stretch for me.
We know SW ships can scan for life forms though. Could be they can scan for specific types. He’d be the only human. Shouldn’t be much of a feat in that case.

I dunno, a theme about this franchise is that you should trust instincts and learn to let go. That's what the climax of A New Hope was all about, with the hero dismissing his targeting computer in favor of using his will to destroy the Death Star.

We already got that moment for Rey when she was fighting Kylo though. No distinction was made during the Ahch-to landing scene. Common sense, for me, would indicate that it was little more than routine. I find I'm rarely right about most things though :)

Like letting go of physical form and becoming more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

Also reflected in Rebels with Kanan's sight.

Yes, I'm sure she didn't have a father. It makes perfect sense, it would explain why she would immediately become attached to Han Solo despite not knowing anything about him. But being left of Jakku in care of her mother....by Luke himself.....Luke wouldn't leave his kid on a hellish planet where everyone is struggling to survive on imperial portions.

I get your point, but the "I know the Force, lol" moment was less about her not relying upon technology in a Galaxy absolutely filled with it and more of an "embrace your destiny" thing, which is another big aspect of the Star Wars story. That's why it's so important that she's the one who goes to Ahch-To (almost) alone and is the one to present Luke with his father's weapon as a plea for an old hope to save the day in a tumultuous time in history - it's a part of her character development.

Luke’s moment, to me, isn’t about reliance on ‘technology’. It’s a callback to his earlier training with Kenobi.
The targeting computer is an extension of the same principle: trust in the Force, not what’s in front of your face. It’s the same premise with Rey during her fight with Kylo. When she closes her eyes and then counterattacks, she’s trusting in the Force and allowing it to aid in her actions.

Finding the lone human on a planet, to me, doesn’t seem like something that would require special intuition. There’s probably a tool for that. The Jedi, whose primary weapon is a sophisticated piece of technology, are certainly not averse to those options.

She probably wasn't, as it's indicated that she was more or less dumped there by her family and that Jakku is more or less a planet that people end up on instead of being a planet that's self-sufficient. But it is possible.

Cool take. It's certainly not what's implied, but I'm not sure anything specifically contradicts it. 'Rey, the native Jakkuan (Jakkuvian? Jakkuite? Jakkuoff?)' :)

Also probably the sort of guy that refuses to brush his teeth but insists on speaking too closely to your face.
