    Well I do at least. I really like Raiders and Last Crusade, and I don't hate Crystal Skull.
    I'm willing to give Spielberg and Ford another shot. It's not like neither of them haven't made good films recently.

    This movie will have to take place late-50s early 60s, & they've already used the go-to villains of the era (in the Western point of view), the KGB/Soviets.

    I'm thinking the villains or antagonists of Indy 5 are going to be the US Government. CIA, or FBI.

    While the CIA has done some really shady stuff, they're not clearly defined as "bad guys" in the context of history. The problem with that is that people won't get behind that, while they would get behind a hero beating up Nazis and Soviets because those regimes were responsible for some of the worst atrocities in history. They can't have Indy go up against China's brand of communists at the risk of alienating a huge market that notoriously bans everything for stupid reasons. The Khmer Rouge are the only group I can think of that would fit the timeline, but they realistically wouldn't have the kind of resources that the USSR would. Telling a story with evil Russians is the easiest way to go.
