SPECULATION Is Darth Bane the Villain of Ep 7?

Keeping others from dying is cheating death. Remember the line "the powers to cheat death.." was in reference to giving Anakin the power to save Padme, not himself. The line clearly refers to Plageus.

I agree 100%. I was only ok with essence transfer in the Dark empire series because it was palpy putting his soul into a soul-less shell of a body.

 

This is also why I think Plagueis makes sense. He has been spoken about before in the movies, there isn't a ton of back story on him. Even with his book we know little about him before he was a Sith Lord. His book was really an excuse to tell the rise of Sidious.

This! this! a thousand times this! This is part of the reason I am finding some of these reports suspect. The chances of these images existing and not making it to 4chan or anonib seem slim to none to me.

Plagueis could save others from dying but not himself from dying. The one that could cheat death would have been Bane, or possibly Tenebrous.

 

Even though the DC connection is maybe too strong, the Darth Bane character turning to Adam Driver by way of Luke is pretty entertaining. Maybe when Driver fully becomes the bad... he comes up with a new name that doesn't feel like we're in a Batman movie.

 

Some people have been discussing why the Grave Robber would want to obtain Vader's suit; Is it a collector of Sith Relics? Does he have a simple infatuation with the man? Or perhaps its just a major psychotic obsession. What use would anyone have for a burnt up suit of a long dead man???

Fans of the EU know that there is power associated with Sith Relics. In the novels, Darth Bane spent a great deal of time traveling the galaxy to collect such relics in order to gain both power and knowledge of the Dark Side. Now the remains of the suit and burnt carcass of The Chosen One? That would be quite the powerful relic me thinks....

We also KNOW Darth Bane is canon at this point, and if the novels are borrowed from, he may have been transferring his essence for the past 1000 or so years, but his spirit has been "watered down" and he has been either too weak to intervene or just waiting for the right moment to reveal himself. He could even be stuck inside some twisted broken down cybernetic body that has to be constantly maintained both mechanically and through the unnatural powers of the Dark Side. Now that he has the suit and/or the carcass of the most feared and powerful Sith Lord in recent history, The Ancient Fear has been able to construct his return, and will attempt to take his rightful place as the TRUE Lord of The Sith!

that could be a possibilty. Today i am convinced Darth Bane will be the villian. We'll see how I feel tomorrow, lol.

 

I think Bane is the only true evil villain in the film, others like the 'grave robber' will be perceived as a villain, then the surprise that he isn't.

 

See, I'm thinking the grave robber IS Bane... i put a quick theory up above about 30 mins ago

 

I think the grave robber is Luke's son (Gleeson) who after finding Vader's mask wears symbolically, he would be a lot like Zorro or Batman, keeping his true identity concealed.

 

Trying to change the galaxy's perception of Vader, but the new government sees him as a threat for taking the law into his own hands. I will be seen as the villain through the movie but will be revealed after taking Ridley as an apprentice/sidekick. Bane as the ancient fear will be enough to deal with.

 

I'm almost convinced now, Luke is the Last known Jedi and stays away from the politics of new government. The new Jedi's will all have alias's or alteregos like Palpatine did, but fight for justice separate of the government.

 

What if Tom Cruise is actually in this movie as the grave robber/Darth Bane and they're keeping it a secret?
I know they denied that he was in the film, but JJ also said Benedict wasn't playing Kahn.

All I'm saying is... it'd be pretty fun if the villain isn't from the announced cast and it's an actor we're not thinking about.

 

I can see Driver finding Bane's armor and being possessed... but that opens a slight can of worms:

How is it that Palps and Vader with their enormous war chest and formidable dark force powers couldn't find or sense this relic? Is arrogance to blame? Would a Sith ever look to the past dark lords to untap added darkside juju?

I find it hard to believe that some random aristocrat finds these relics before the sith would have long ago.

Unless...

Palps wouldn't go looking for Bane because he had something to do with the Ancient Fear's current state?

Is the spirit of Bane locked up in a force-shielded location... A veritable Pandora's Box hidden from the world?

Who would have the power to even contain Bane (say that 3x fast) without much needed help?

Seems to me some good force spirit out there once again withheld information (Not again Ben! Another rhyme!) OR Palps and Vader knew where the baddest mofo was buried but would never go looking for him.. because they put him there in the first place.

 

I had actually thought of that when posting in the other thread about the different factions views on force-wielders... but my thoughts were that they would be welcomed by the Alliance, hunted by the remnants and have fights picked with the locals...

Then they would have found something that Jar Jar and all the PT could never do... cast someone who might keep me from seeing the movie...
