I would add to this that you are correct, this is why I put more credence to it being Exar Kun than Bane although its probably neither. Kun you could argue was trapped and perhaps Adam Driver, being an x wing pilot allegedly at the same Temple kun was trapped in wandered down the wrong hallway so to speak and go possessed. The only problem there is explaining how the rebels never found him the first time they were there.

I still think your theory is more correct though, just thought i would throw that possibility out there.

Well, how many Force sensitives were there among the Rebels on Yavin 4? One. And Luke wasn't there for long, because obviously they would have had to evacuate the base almost immediately after the Death Star was destroyed, because the Empire was obviously going to show up in force to deal with them.

So yeah, I think the Exar Kun thing COULD work. The question is, do they want to just rehash a plot point from Kevin Anderson's Jedi Academy novels, or do they want to do something completely new? I have a feeling they're going to go with a fresh approach.

BUT... if they do end up doing the Yavin 4/ Exar Kun thing, I think they could justify it just fine as to why Luke didn't end up being possessed while he was there with the Rebels years before.

You do a good job playing both sides of the fence... rarely do I see someone as balanced in their replies

Well, ask anyone I know in real life - I can be one arrogantly opinionated bastid when I get going!

But for stuff like this, when we're just sharing ideas about something that we all dig, I try not to get all carried away. I don't always succeed (don't get me schtarted on the flippin' PT! LOL!) but I do my best. And really, there can very often be two competing ideas for something like a Star Wars story that are both pretty good.

(Love the Gumby avatar, by the bye! "Oi luv... the sound... of two BRICKS bein' bashed togevvah!") :D

Most of the TIDMADT admins are either Irish or Australian... I think of the 7 admins, only one is American, and he sent me a pair of Monty Python Black Knight slippers for my birthday, so he understands...

    The return of Bane...

First of all, wit the announcement not only that Bane will be in this movie, but which actor would be playing him, we can move on to the greater question of what exactly Bane's legacy was...

Once again, I think the "Ancient Fear" is the return of nothing less than the Sith themselves... I think they have returned en masse from Unknown Space where they retreated, and with the Empire in shambles and the Alliance not yet having solidified their hold, the galaxy is ripe for pickins...

What the "great weapon" they are looking for is something that was left by the Sith when they retreated... and it may be the only hope for repelling them now
