    It wasn't necessary the first time. Its wad poorly received the 1st time but overlooked. Absolutely not needed. Also remember all those people complaining that Disney has no over arching direction with the new canon. This completely overlooks the Bloodline novel where Han and Leia are still together 6 years before TFA. And it completely breaks Leia's admission in TFA that shhe lost Han when they sent Ben to Luke.

    I think it would be best if we let this go.

    She is a nobody. I'm fine with that.

    They had been trying to prepare everyone for a long time that was the case, but wild theories were more fun and now feelings are hurt.

    I hope they don't retcon or certain point of view it in IX. One of my favorite scenes in TLJ was Kylo telling her she was nobody and didn't belong in the story. It was a defining moment for Rey. Don't take that away from her.

    Rey was not left with Unkar Plutt. She goes to him to trade parts for food. Am I the only one who sees the comparison of Rey growing up on a desert planet of Jakku and Luke growing up on a desert planet of Tattooine? Obi-wan stayed on Tattooine to keep watch over Luke, Lor-San-Tekka stayed on Jakku to keep watch over Rey. Also, the ring that Leia wears that has the 2 twin stones on it could be her wedding ring that Han gave her. In the books they married. Every poster for the movies, she's wearing it. But I think Rey could be Luke's daughter. The books show he had a child with Mara Jade. The children of Jedi needed to be protected and separated, e.g Luke and Leia, Ben and Rey.

    OK here goes. In TFA, Rey is drawn to Anakins sabre. She can fly the MF. She has hand to hand combat skills, she uses the force without any training (mind tricks, etc), which is also shown in TLJ. It is my theory that the Force Ghost of Anakin is inside her. A benign possession, if you will.
