I meant 10 from each year. That's the point.

I can give you 10 from a lot of years. Most people probably couldn't tell you the exact release year for *most* movies. But we're Star Wars fans on a Star Wars forum so that's kind of a biased sampling.
I'm closing in on 20 this year already

i didn't even remember Revenge of the Sith was released the same year (that's actually kind of shocking to me!) : o O

AOTC Is Actually My Favorite Star Wars Movie, And I Really Like ROTS, But TPM Really Isn’t That Good In My Opinion, And It’s Not Because Of Jar Jar (I Actually Think He’s Funny) I Just Think There Are Way Too Much Politics And That Makes The Movie Boring To Me, The Only Things I Liked About It Were Jar Jar And The Duel Of The Fates

same here...I think the current state of the ST is worse than the PT but people like what they like and there is no harm in that

I'm dumbfounded as to how people can think the prequel trilogy is "trash" outside of Attack of the Clones.. which I personally felt was a waste of time (outside of Anakin discovering his mother, and the start of the Padme romance)

I loved Qui Gon, Maul, Mace Windu, and yes.. I happily accept Jar Jar.

Of course he had some awful moments that should have been cut, but as Mark Hamill said: "Even the other characters found Jar Jar annoying. He was supposed to be that way."

I thought the overall plot for the prequels was good, and thought the casting was great. I loved the joyful tone of The Phantom Menace, and the world design of all three films was fantastic.

I thought Hayden fit as Anakin too, because In my head canon he had Aspergers or something.. the awkwardness and "cringe" moments fit the character.

Another thing this trilogy did great was the aliens.. they all fit into the saga. Unlike the later aliens in Maz Kanata's palace and Canto Bight.. which were an insult to the Star Wars aesthetic.

My only problems with the prequel trilogy are:
    a) The direction and filming styles were a bit cheap looking at times
    b) The prevalence of Boba Fett, and how his dad was the source of the Clone Wars
    c) Threepio being built by Anakin
    d) The overuse of Threepio and R2 overall (particularly the droid factory sequence)

I wish Threepio could have just been Amidala's assistant or something.. and appeared for the first time in Episode II or III. It would have made the universe seem much bigger if he'd just had a cameo role.. before shifting to become a protagonist in A New Hope.

    But whatever.. I accept it.

For me, Lucas got at least 95% of his decisions right. When it comes to Star Wars.. the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy are sacred. Everything in them is canon, written by the mastermind.. George Lucas.

    George Lucas IS Star Wars.

Yeah, it showed that Darth Vader could flirt with a hottie like Padme since he was 8. That's a level in badassery that nobody in the new movies can achieve.

Macking on a Portman level hottie at age 8 and succeeding is far more OP than anything Rey or Luke ever did tbh

This is probably one of my favorite backward logic arguments. “You didn’t like it? Well, you weren’t SUPPOSED to like it . . . . . do you like it now?”

That is pretty funny because that's the argument against Holdo, lol. You were supposed to not like what she did because it puts you in...Poe Position. (I had to)

And now we know what George Lucas meant by toxic maleness in that Cameron interview. Dude was ahead of his time, I got to admit.

Irony or just a cruel twist of fate, Holdo could be what they expected Jar Jar to be. Now, I don't fully agree with my own statement but devil's advocate (Pacino yell) and blah blah blah blah sake of discussion yada yada yada.

As in, a character who *forces* viewer perspective to a certain side or feeling. A purely manipulative character.

The difference between Holdo and Jar Jar is, Holdo is right to be the way she is, especially with Poe.
Jar Jar is just a giant cannonball ripping through scenes with little to no redeeming quality outside of a scant group of 10 year olds.

Holdo withholding (snicker, wonder where her name came from) info from our hero Poe is bad because Poe is the hero and he should know ssseekrits.
However, Poe is bad because he just disobeyed direct orders from a General, costing the Resistance their fleet. So Holdo is actually *right* to withhold this information from Poe. But she's still opposing a known good guy, so we align with Poe almost instinctively. But it works, narrative wise, in the end because she's actually right and he's wrong.

Whereas with Jar Jar, he's just there to annoy (if you buy this theory) the other characters and therefore annoy you. He has little to no redeeming qualities other than apparent dumb luck at times. His annoyance never reveals itself to be anything other than annoying. Maybe if GL had stuck with Darth Jar Jar, we'd have something to build on. His annoyance was to distract and delay the Jedi. But alas. It never came to fruition.

So, from a certain point of view, Holdo is an actualized Jar Jar character designed solely to manipulate the audience into feeling a certain way for subversion and character development of an otherwise flat (but handsome) Poe.

I really wonder what George's draft version of Jar Jar, a stoic and proud character, would have been like on screen. Couldn't have been worse.

Proud, stoic...but a little clueless. Like Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China
That's a character that could work.

An actual line from Jar Jar in Episode I: The Beginning

"I have spent some time with the Naboo. They are like us... in some ways. I have traveled far. I have seen many wonders. We must become a part of the universe. In isolation, we will die."

I'm curious what a movie with that guy would have been like. Less stepping in poodoo, I'd imagine.

I actually prefer the Prequel Trilogy to the Original films, so I think I'd be a bit biased in my answer. I've seen the OT a handful of times, but to this day I revisit the PT constantly, to pick apart new details in the world and characters.

Even though TPM is not a good movie, it's definitely beautiful to look at:

This is probably my most favorite shot of TPM (maybe even of the whole PT) and the reason for this post.

Why on earth for? Why does Jar Jar have to be stoic? What the hell for?

I will NEVER understand this fandom's attitude toward Jar Jar, a character that is basically clumsy and naive. And yet, so many fans behave as if he was the destructor of our world. Either someone will write an article about this fandom's anal and excessive attitude toward Jar Jar . . . or perhaps I will.

"Even though TPM is not a good movie"?

You can't even express this as an opinion, instead of as a fact?

Well, I don’t think Jar Jar is exactly the anti-Christ. Although, if that were revealed to actually be the case someday, I wouldn’t be totally shocked :D I find the character to be entirely unpleasant in every possible regard. He didn’t start out that way in draft though. You aren’t curious, even in the slightest bit, how that character would have played out if portrayed as something less cartoonish? Not the teensiest bit? Even as a 'what if' experiment?
