    So excited for this game!

The trailer looks fantastic- High Republic callouts, tag team combat, return of fan favorite characters... it just looks beautiful.

The first game was pretty fantastic. I've played through it multiple times, but usually on pretty easy difficulties, because I tend to get frustrated at "Soulsborne"-style combat. This time I'm on a hard difficulty, though, and I'm actually really enjoying it! Just had the second fight with Trilla (the one at the Zeffo dig site) and it was intense- can't believe I survived it on my first try, tbh.

32 days until April 28! (though my wait may be longer, as Amazon informed me my new delivery date is May 1... I'm choosing to look at it as just an opportunity to still probably be playing it on May 4.

For any non-gamers out there like me who want to enjoy Jedi: Survivor this is an excellent play through. This is the complete play- through, I'm about 1.5 hours in and loving it. This channel also has a cut-scene only version, but the gameplay adds so much more to the story.

I just started playing and I'm stuck... HAHA.. GREAT GAME, amazing graphics and very engrossing. Very hard game youtubers make it look easy, but the challanages make it fun. Playing on Jedi Padawan since I haven't played in such a long time. I will play on higher difficulties once I get finish this play through. This will keep me occupied till Star Wars Visions volume 2. Have fun all... wish this had a multiplayer mode...

It looks so massive and so much to do. I just don't have the patience to actually play. I'm gonna finish watching it later today for the story but I'm looking forward to seeing all the side mission and exploring stuff.

Yes, you need allot of patience playing these games. I was stuck in an area where the companion Bode had to assist me. The R1 button would not work, I had to start the game from the beginning, I was 20 minutes into the game... When I reached the area I was stuck in, Bode started his conversation I hit R1 button, and I was able to continue the game. I don't know if it was a glitch in the game, or I was late hitting R1 button when Bode started his convo with Cal.

Finally got to play this on Saturday after realizing my Xbox 1 was incompatible with the new game. One new Xbox 1 X later and me and the kids made it to Kobah and reunited with Greez after a few hours of game play. This looks planet looks absolutely massive with different places to go. Really great looking game.

    This game is fire!
It was the first game with Hogwarts Legacy that I bought for PS5 and while Hogwarts felt like upgraded PS4 version (which it probably is),
Jedi was looking insane since the start. The whole Coruscant level got me hooked already (I love that yacht from Sienar, looking like Maul's Infiltrator meets luxury painted in the Coruscant red).
They took the small scale from Fallen Order and went huge! Everything is insane in comparison to the first game...
The lightsaber stances, combat, story, locales - HUGE... and the acrobatics and platforming went beyond insane.

Not to mention the story. Fallen Order felt more like Andor, small scale infiltrations/espionage like adventure, Survivor goes commando.
I won't post any spoilers as I am pretty late into the story now, but you get resolutions for all the plot points and story from Fallen Order, plus the High Republic connection is awesome. I loved the Phase 1 of books and seeing some of that era on screen for the first time looking almost like a movie, was awesome. As OT had this brutalist industrial 60s/70s vibes, Prequels 30/40s art deco, they go with 1900s Art Nouveau for High Republic.

There is lot of implications for canon in the lore, I know it's a game, but as at least the core ideas are kept in check by the story group for canon,
there were bits and pieces that I can't wait to discuss in spoiler teritory.

Also, don't get mislead by the official info, that Koboh is the main hub planet and it's huge as there is at least one more planet, that is almost as huge and fun to explore.
I will probably finish the story soon, but there is ton of adventure material waiting afterwards. I am happy, that it is not just collecting lightsaber parts and ponchos, but also materials to trade and solving puzzles to uncover mysteries and missions to meet new characters, situations.
Lot of world building in it. I wonder if we'll get any DLC (except for new cosmetic parts, that I'll pass on), but even if this is what we get, I will probably spend like a month of gameplay to finish the side stuff in contrast to Fallen Order, which I got for Christmas as it was released and finished with Platinum around the New Year.

Man, I can't wait to play more! The game took forever to install for me, but I'm about 2.5 hours in now (just got to a certain saloon), and I'm so hooked.

I was a pretty big fan of Fallen Order, but if this game keeps it up, it'll really blow it out of the water. Customization is bonkers, areas feel epic, the story is intriguing, and combat feels incredible.

In fact, I'd say this: if each series had a game associated with its combat, it might look like this:

Prequels- The Force Unleashed- flashy, over the top, but fun

Originals- Fallen Order- everything has a ton of weight to it and feels extremely grounded, but it can sometimes feel a bit bland.

Sequel Trilogy- Survivor- a good compromise between the spectacle of the prequels and the weight of the originals.

And much like how I personally think that Disney Star Wars has really kind of nailed a good balance in what a lightsaber duel should look like, Survivor feels like the best lightsaber combat videogames have given us.

Everything in Survivor is over the top!
Not a huge fan of the customization gameplay wise, which doesn't mean that I hate it, the opposite really, but it doesn't have much impact on gameplay, thank god in comparison to other games where gears impacts your stats.
But I love the visual side. There are fun clothes and some use this Dash Rendar/70s SW aesthetic with foam padding and stuff.
It's lot better than ponchos and all the clothes look great in-game. One nitpick, the animations of fabric like capes and longer shrouds of textile is not as good as it can be and it's also visible a lot on...
Darth Vader... part of his cape burns off during the duel and it just hangs on him like a plastic cape on action figure and that took me out hard from otherwise spectacular movie visuals. I also loved how he is more of a tank, compared to Rogue One and close to the ANH portrayal with his moves and everything. He even does his stoic stance with lightsaber slightly nodding towards you like when he fought Obi-Wan on Death Star. The attention to detail is incredible. You can be the acrobatic Jedi from prequels, but Vader doesn't give a damn, he takes few hits and then overpowers you with single blow and force mastery.

So, I know that Fallen Order was compared to two other game/genres in its day- Metroidvania and Soulsborne.

Survivor has some of this, too, but I'm also getting some vibes from some other gaming stuff, too.

Dagan Gera, himself one armed, really reminds me a lot of the one winged angel Sephiroth from FFVII. Honestly, I think this may have even been a purposeful homage, given how anime boy Dagan really feels unique in the world of Star Wars.

Koboh, with its color pallate and crime-ridden villages, reminds me a lot of Kadara from Mass Effect Andromeda. It's more of a vibes thing, and I don't really think it's intentional. But they do have a very similar feel.

After finally having some play time by myself yesterday with no evil spawn yapping in my ear, this old man is going to settle in on Kobah and get while the getting's good. I'm guessing that planet gets harder and harder to navigate as you progress in the story so early collectibles with weaker enemies is faster.
Yes it's going to be hard to avoid spoilers.
