SPECULATION Knights of Ren

IG-88 had an axe type of weapon.

 

If you are talking about the axes in Jabba´s palace, look what a decent lightsaber did with those who wielded it, and how fast.

I think that if your enemy has a blaster, you will not choose to use this kind of weapon against him. I understand lightsabers to be used in star wars because it could deflect the blaster but cold weapons are more for impress the audience. Sure core fanboys will find an explanation to any unlogical thing in the movie. The knights has only one lightsaber. So they had to look cool in some other way....but at the end, if they attack other people with fire weapons, they need to use blasters as well. All but one...

 

the sticks had some energy and those were guardians of the beasts, it had a point, Ewoks....out of place. I imagine - if the Knights of Ren have these kind of weapons....only Kylo have a light/energy saber, they use these weapons agains not armed people, like villagers, for sport, for fun, for better audience experience, because from a logical point of view - it would be better to use blasters and shoot them all. The lightsaber is a defense weapon. We´we been told througout all these years. Obviously a Force sensitive bad guy can manage pretty well to defend and attack with the lightsaber and it could be the only weapon against other force users....I´m looking forward to see the Knights of Ren in action...

 

One of my greatest disappointments of the prequels was not seeing battalions of IG robots fighting.

Back on topic though, I've seen rumors that Kylo is not the only villain with a "light saber-ish" weapon. I have to wonder if these Knight's weapons will have more to them in the finished film?

I'd love for the Anakin/Ventress duel to be canonized, but I'd rather Durge stay non-canon.

 

Of course I am. I consider canon only the six movies, and if I had to choose between Clone Wars, The Clone Wars and Rebels, I would choose anytime the first cartoons...

 

This. I also believe it explains how Anakin got his scar, or wasn't that shown in the cartoon? I also think his knighting should be canonized. I always kind of felt like The Clone Wars dropped me in the middle of the war, it doesn't really show how it escalated and what happened with Anakin after the start of the war, he was there all of a sudden, no longer a padawan, suddenly had longer hair and a scar. Although to be fair, I think the cartoon was still considered to be part of the story back when the TCW series started.

And yeah, Durge felt like too much of an indestructible badguy that nobody after he finally died ever spoke about ever again.

Kylo Ren will serve as a catalyst and deeper exploration/discovery for the Sith' return, which will be the overall arc of the next three episodes.

Force sensitive children (as being introduced by Rebels) and their relevance to the plot will very much be an element of the future episodes. Why would you leave little Rey on a desolate planet if you are not otherwise sadistic as a parent? Rey was never really alone, but protected and hidden.

Kylo Ren is just one Knigth of Ren, not their leader nor their superior

 

Sort of like Batman and The League of Shadows?
