Dude dont worry about it in the slightest..
Star wars fans always gonna be pissed.. yes we all are.. you may or may not be older than me.. i first saw ANH in 1991.. and you can say im a non fan or anything in between..
    we like the idea
    we like the concept..

lets see where we go with this :)
chewie goes on without his partner in crime - did you lend an ear to all his comments ("Oh you are cold are you:" the whole scene with him and the nurse...) as characters we evolve.. do characters in Star wars evolve to the point they exist on their own - or maybe with a new crew - i mean Rey was practically finishing every single one of Hans sentences...
Yeah man... its bull... that point we liven in life when they were our saviors.. the ones carrying this monotonous life and gave us reason to be..

If chewie continues through the saga... it makes him that bit stronger - han always wanted his crowsbow blaster...

we have to let the new story into the old... otherwise we are just living out old memories and it is just useless..

At this point I wouldn't mind if Chewie went to the dark side. Atleast he'd have a reason. I mean seriously. A wookie with no common sense gets pisses when his master dies and kills random people. Show him drunk in a bar and knocking people out. He's pissed. SOMETHING!

This may be my last post. I came in here trying really trying but come on, why?

DFF can you tell me WHY we are here and talking about this?

    He'll become what?
    Don't listen to EU a before 2015.
The speech was meant for the most anthropological sense in response to what happened to the Nazis DIRECTLY after WWII.
Hux and Kylo obviously have a rivalry and Hux is above him and Kylo hates that, so...it's ANH/AOTC Hybrid but it's all based on opinion at the end of the day .

I think Chewie and Rey will become buddy buddy's now, Rey and Chewie seem like they like each other so.....maybe we'll see them together more?

But going to Kylo (Ben) I think we will see him much more darker in Episode VIII and maybe more unstable?

As supporting evidence that he yells "Ben": this is what appeared in the Korean subtitles for the movie. Of course, subtitle writers do make mistakes, but I'm guessing the subtitles were written in-house at Lucasfilm (given the incredible secrecy surrounding the project), in which case the subtitle writers might have had access to the script.

I swear the moment Kylo told Rey that he can teach her in the way of the Force I WISHED that she accepted it and joined him. She paused a moment but then gave Kylo a good beating. I really wish Rey would join Kylo in VIII and as explanation because of her anger towards Luke as he wasn't there to protect her and be a father.
But at least after the demonstrative separation, when the ground opens between them, with Rey/blue sword on one side and Kylo/red sword on the other side this is unlikely.

Has anyone also had the feeling that during the interrogation scene Kylo and Rey kind of recognized each other but weren't too sure about it? I expected Kylo at least to say something about the relationship but that would have ruined the reveal in the next films.

Rey's ability to read Kylo's insecurities was Vaderesque.

The character of Han Solo dies in much the same way that Obi-Wan Kenobi dies at the hands of Darth Vader in A New Hope. The main difference being, that Han expects his son turn from the Dark Side.

Kylo Ren - Ben Solo; Probably one of my least favorite characters, and not because I hate him. I feel the character is unnecessarily transparent. There was a lost of mystery around the character of Darth Vader, where as most of the backstory for Kylo Ren has been immediately revealed, AND he spent a good portion of the movie unmasked.

Chewbacca; I was disappointed with the minor role Chewbacca played in VII. It was Chewbacca who embraced Leia, then when Han dies, Chewbacca walks right by Leia. Then, Rey is seen piloting the Millennium Falcon. Wookie can't catch a break.

The whole movie seems to parallel the stories and characters from the original trilogy. I was not very impressed with that choice.

I'm not really defending the issues you point out, Harv.
But it is worth noting this is a different dynamic here - Kylo's parents are part of the reason for his resentment in the first place. They are the ones who sent him away to train with uncle Luke rather than give him the attention he craved.

I guess we'll have to wait and see where they try to go with this.

I couldn't disagree more. It would have just been pastiche if they did the same as with Vader. They showed someone who is not able to handle his power, is losing the plot mentally and I think Adam Driver's performance is one of the best in Star Wars history.

Kylo will never return from the dark side. He wants to be like vader and to be as strong as him. The emperor made Vader do certain things that drove the light/good out of him. What the emperor was to Vader, Kylo is to himself. He wanted to get rid of the light in him by killing his father. After doing that, there is no redemption. Sure, Anakin killed the younglings but that was retarded prequel logic.

There is certainly conflict within Kylo Ren that manifests physically. He is prone to bursts of rage, his anger controls him, and he even begins to cry before murdering his father. Truly, a lot of it was what I did not like about the character of Anakin in the prequel trilogy. It is as though the rebellious teenager from high school has been thrown into space, with a taste for power and murder. I kind of feel like we're ready for something a little more interesting, and perhaps more unique than that in Star Wars. I thought they could have approached the mystery of Kylo Ren's heritage a little better, and waited at least one film before getting Adam Driver out of his helmet.

To our knowledge, Kylo Ren has killed: Han Solo

Anakin Skywalker massacred a village of Tusken Raiders, slaughtered Jedi younglings, and killed Obi-Wan Kenobi. Not to mention he chopped of the hand of his son. While Anakin has the time thing going for him, I think he was a lot further beyond redemption than Kylo Ren.

I agree with the Anakin comparison. But Adam Driver is a much better actor than Hayden Christiansen, and the script he was given was far more interesting. Kylo is what Anakin's character should have been, imo...
