    After noticing Rey slices through the crossgaurd saber at the end of their duel, I started to wonder what he'll be brandishing in VIII. Perhaps building a normal lightsaber is part of completing his training? Or, since Rey has Anakin's saber, maybe Kylo will go searching for one of Vader's? One is floating around according to Aftermath.
    The only problem with going that route would be needing to explain how all these lost sabers miraculously ended up in the hands of the original owner's descendants. But I guess that's what the comics are for.

    I think it will be a stolen one. Single blade. If Kylo wants to beat Rey, it needs to be light and powerful.

    The blade in Aftermath was either put there to show that these lightsaber markets exist (so that Maz Kanata having the Bespin saber in Episode VII doesn't seem so farfetched), or to lay groundwork for a story where Kylo Ren seeks Darth Vader's saber in Episode VIII. I'm hoping for the latter. Given the 'Sword in the Stone' motif of Episode VII and the almost mystical nature of lightsabers in the new trilogy, I'm thinking that Kylo Ren is going to put a lot of emphasis into making sure he has what he considers to be 'the right lightsaber' for the next battle. The only lightsaber that could fit the bill is the one that was used by the person he's trying to emulate: Darth Vader.

    I would like to see him refine his. The one in TFA was more raw, selfmade. I think he will define it more, keep the cross saber and make it like all the other original red lightsaber. that or he fights with Darth Vaders lightsaber(sith artifact)

    Did he even loose his cross guard lightsaber in The Force Awakens ?? I dont remember that ??

    I realise the whole Saber Market was simply established in aftermath, but I still hope to see the Acolytes of the Beyond come back somewhere in the canon.

    Kylo's kyber crystal was cracked. This made need for the cross guard quillons to disburse the unstable plasma energy.

    Vader's lightsaber would be cool, but it blow up in Deathstar 2 in ROTJ. (how to bring it back?)
    I guess Kylo will end up repairing his saber.
    And maybe a new color, what about a shiny/dark orange?
