The blurring of lines was relatively tried in the Prequels but ultimately it still manifested as "evil is evil" and "good is good" and there are justified evils done by the forces of good to keep evil sustained in the shadows until a naive young fool comes along and is easily manipulated into believing evil is good. "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil." The Empire and all its machinations and workings afterward are a pure manifestation of evil. Simply because there are people who believe in it and are deceived by its workings does not make the Empire good. Same with Nazism and their followers. They are deluded, misguided at best, purely deceptive at worse.

Yes, in their heads they are doing the "right thing." That means their deluded or deceived. They are not heroic or good. That's where I take issue. Us calling their actions relatively good just because they think it is.

I have no problem with them developing him further, nor with him being forgiven or redeemed. I do think from a literary standpoint and storytelling standpoint that will have to be done with some potential acknowledgment by Kylo of his atrocities and the characters around him. Given the climate today in the West it would be a good thing for people to see someone so heinous make a heel to face turn. People have the tendency to think once you did something wrong then you must be destroyed and completely forgotten or else the offense won't go away.

This is all speculative and does not really change the fact that Kylo has deceived himself or is delusionally accepting that "evil is good and good is evil" and lacks the philosophical capability to examine justified evils to keep evil at bay over deceptive evil being evil just for evil's sake.

Again, the Nazis thought they were fighting good people who were really being evil to the world by protecting inferior races, thus that made them weak. Thus, in the mind of the Nazis they were doing good, yet it was obviously evil. Furthermore, the climate of the time and prior to their actions supported their actions. Eugenics were done in America by people who believed the same way, in Europe, etc. Yet, somehow it was obvious when such a devastating action was witnessed that it was not good, it was evil. Evil is evil and good is good. I don't see this from a relative point of view. I do recognize justified evils (such as war, killing in defense, etc.).

I don't think he is an anti hero at all. He will probably used Rey to eliminate Snoke in his favor. He probably planned the end of snoke with Hux and Phasma. So the evil trio would run the FO.

As for thinking kylo does it for the good end. Well, Terrorists who killed hundreds of people in my country , at Paris, and Nice. They are thinking we are the bad guys. They are thinking they do it for the right thing. The debate is a non sense.

Just my theory on snoke/kylo/rey is that snoke is so powerful with the force he can control people, and has controlled kylo since before the destruction of the Jedi academy. Everything evil that kylo has done is not of his own doing but has been used as a puppet by snoke. When snoke hears of rey and how powerful she can potentially be he discards kylo and kills him. That scene we see where it looks like snoke is force draining rey could actually be him taking over her body like he did with kylo, thus taking us into ep9 where Luke,Finn,Poe go in search of rey to try to get her back mirroring ROTJ and the search for Han and the destruction of the emperor and redemption of Vader. Snoke is the dark side of the force and the moments in TFA where we see him questioning what he is doing is actually his real self trying to fight back against snoke. This might sound rubbish to a lot of people but I just got a sense it will go this way.

That is all but cliche among Jedi though. Most don't fall due to a maniacal penchant for evil, most fall because there is a problem that they deem that needs fixed and think that the Jedi way is too slow in fixing said problem. If that is the case, that makes Kylo no more special than anyone else who has fallen before.

Supposedly we aren't getting that typical "business as usual" approach. I have hope that Rian is smarter than that.
