well you weren't entirely wrong though. I heard his son travels with him because he's touch and go.

I'm sure there's an unwritten protocol for shooting scenes with seniors though. Probably a lot of heavy editing, stand ins and post audio. ADR, as they say.

It would have been cool if Lando owned the bar in TFA that I believe is owned by Maz Kanata. It would have been funny, too, because every time Han Solo and company show up, the Empire comes along and puts Lando out of business.

What if he became the Supreme Chancellor of the New Republic? Like it's only alluded to in VII that Lando is very famous and powerful but, his role is never elaborated. The reason he doesn't aid the Resistance is because of political red tape involving another full scale galactic war.

I would love that. Han making vague, mocking reference to Lando doing alright for himself in VII, followed by Lando showing up in VIII as the Supreme Chancellor.

I hope Tendra and Lando, Jr. show up, too!

Man, so much goodness in this thread! Not sure what I like more, the idea of him being shut down by the Man (again!) or him being the Chancellor. Frankly, anything is fine by me. He's a huge part of SW, IMHO, and deserves a comeback more than Akbar, even.

Besides, if Nien Nunb is back, Lando has to be on people's minds.

I think the vast majority of SW fans want to see Lando again, I can't see them not giving him a role at some point in the trilogy other than health issues, and even then they could probably squeeze him in somehow.
I would love to see a live action version of Tendra!

Maybe he's not in it and/or they're saving him for a cameo surprise so they don't want to spoils it similar to Luke Skywalker's role in TFA .

Yes I can see it now, ya'see the movie starts with Rey and crew getting chased by bounty hunters, they find out later the bounty hunters have been looking for Lando who has a price on his head from Jabba's brother who is out for revenge, a price bigger than any bounty in galactic history due to excessive interest accrued over the last 30 years. Finally Rey and pals track down the location of Jabba's brother who has taken residency in a massive factory that is the galaxy's largest supplier of carbonite, and in a climatic battle with our heroes he slips and falls into a vat and is frozen in carbonite. It turns out that Lando's last known coordinates were in the nav computer on the falcon, and so the movie end's with a cliffhanger featuring Rey going to the remote planet to find Lando, and the last shot of the movie is of her meeting him on a cliff and offering him the keys to the Millennium Falcon.

It's like poetry, every stanza rhymes with the next.

Lando financing the Resistance now that "the Republic" (which apparently only consists of one system according to Hux) is gone would be great.

I think that Hux was referring to the NR government/fleet, which was based in the Hosnian System.

I know, but the way it's presented in the film is beyond ridiculous. Like, just say "the Republic capital" or something. For the audience, it's confusing.

This wasn't confusing at all, they were very clearly targeting the capital system of the New Republic, their fleet and government conveniently located on one planet. So in essence yes the Republic is gone, but it's not as if the First Order has suddenly taken control of everything.
