    You forgot to mention that as we are not really used to Snow in most areas of the country people have no idea how to drive in the stuff & so are completely unprepared when it does come down leading to chaos on the road. Though by the looks of it not as bad as @Jayson makes Alaska look.

    The truly insane part is how jaded people are to the conditions.
    People still fly 80 mph and higher on these winter roads, and others play with phones while driving 70 and weaving traffic without signals...in those conditions...

    Sheesh...

    We been gettin' lit up here where i live (Rural Western Penna. - just a bit SE of you @Shira - pretty regular the past month (@DarthSnow can attest to) and folks here Know how to drive in it.
    Lately they all been acting like it, coz usually ... they don't.

    People here know how to drive in it (for the most part) but even that has its consequences. I can't tell you how many people tailgate in bad weather or won't turn their brights off, even when you flash your lights at them. It's unbelievable.

    It's funny here because we're talking 40 miles...
    The amount of time difference between 65 miles in one hour and 80 miles in one hour over ... 40 miles is...oh...2 minutes...maybe 5.
    Considering there's a light at both ends basically I'll still see them at the light anyway. All they really did was get to stopping and waiting before I did, and use more gas to do so.

    I also love the thinking that you need a big 4x4 truck. Those just end up in ditches. There's no weight in the back...it's just wasted power on an open road that's not resisting you, and when you try to stop...you're in the worst set up with all your momentum wanting to slam forward but no back weight.

    I drive a little chevy sonic turbo 6 speed front wheel drive with blizzaks.
    Noooo problem ever because I'm low, light, all the drive control is where the momentum will transfer to during breaking, and the blizzaks grip ice like it's a dirt road.

    Buuut...whatever, big 4x4 truck means better!

    It funny the best car I had for snow was my old Hyundai Coupe 2 litre engine front wheel drive but because it was heavy plus I made sure I always had good tyres on it the few times we did have bad snow ( it once took me 5 Hrs to do a 30 min journey to work) it never let me down & it was better in the snow then my parents rear wheel drive Lexus.

    Yeah, I work at an equestrian centre. Mucking stalls, turning horses in and out, etc. So rain, shine or snow I'm working outside 5+ hours every day.

    It is exhausting and not really conducive to my work ability so I've taken a new job as a pharmacy tech, although I still do shifts at the stables a few times per week. I do enjoy it. I love working with horses and these are really expensive fancy ones ;)

    nah, real answer, I have a newish tablet and don’t have any photos of starfish. Will have to go out and find some to take pictures of. I was trying to figure out how to use the one I use over at TFN, but am not the most tech savvy person, so I gave up.
