Maybe...I may even resemble that remark but still feel Andor had been one of the very best pieces of the franchise so my preferences for types of stories doesn't exclude others nor will automatically elevate such just because they are in my wheelhouse.

I think that a fair chunk just want a nostalgia delivery system or have sort of "type casted" the franchise to a place where is has so little room to maneuver or to break new ground that it more or less may as well be a nostalgia delivery system.

"This isn't Star Wars" has been a thing since 1980 and certainly since 1983, funny thing to me is my sister was one of those early "splitters" and has only accepted Return of the Jedi as "real Star Wars" in the last year and even seems to be starting to warm to the prequels a little.

I am relatively easy myself. The only things that really, really don't work for me are Resistance, Caravan of Courage, and the Holiday Special as far as on the screen stuff with Rise of Skywalker very much pushing it but still enjoyable enough to tolerate even if I was God Emperor I'd almost certainly rubbish it and try again.

I am actually having one question for fans in general: What else good SW is there besides the OG?
As I feel that everything is either bad, not the SW I want or am used to, etc.
And one of the best shows and best SW show from all standpoints, Star Warsy and cinematographic ones, get's flack for not being Star Warsy.
All of my friends loved Andor and for most of them, it's finally something they really liked with no criticisms to Disney for it :)
The show is even riddled with iconic visual moments paired with one of the best writing, like Luthen's speech in that service corridor, the whole episode with The Eye, the protest on Ferrix, the prison episodes, Luthen's escape in Fondor...
I can't wait for Season 2 and the way it will go up to Rogue One.

Your second sentence denies any answer to the first sentence. It's not really possible to answer an open-ended question about what other Star Wars is good aside from the original when the parameter metric is immediately stated that all are not what the one asking wants.

What other chocolate than Hershey's is good? As I feel that every other chocolate is bad or not what I want.

It's not really a question. It's an assertion of taste. Which is a good thing. Just perhaps don't lead with the impression of a question when it's somewhat pointless given that no one can tell you what is good to you other than yourself.

    Cheers,
    Jayson

I wonder if @Dynamicx88 was perhaps referring to the perceived discourse in the fandom, rather than stating their own opinion? I.e., questioning the fandom whether fans of SW regards everything but the OT to be bad film/TV?

"As I feel that [to the fandom] everything is either bad, not the SW I want or am used to..."

But I could, of course, be wrong :)

    That would make more sense.

Sorry guys, it was more of a sarcastic post than anything else, as I really have no idea what the fans want based on the opinions around the internet,
hence it was more of a statement than question. Rogue One is probably the one that is liked universally (and has strong ties to OT), but everything else, including Andor, get's bad rep for one reason or the other. It's safe to asume, that OG is universally liked, but everything else is bad and it varies.

After a certain scale, fans are a built in paradox as there's no real way for so many people of so many different cultural and experiential contexts to agree on meaningfulness and aesthetics.

    It's a guaranteed schism.

    Cheers,
    Jayson
