I think this would work really well, linked with the Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan movie! There are so many possibilities. An Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn Anthology film, featuring both Jedi Master's stories; Qui-Gon's pre-TPM story, and Obi-Wan's post-RotS/pre-ANH story, intercutting.

Or just two separate films. But either way, I think the two should have some degree of interconnectivity, mirroring, or cross-referencing or something. The two Jedi Masters definitely share similarities.

HELL NO..........I don't wanna see about of movies about characters origins.

What could work is a obi-wan movie that takes place between 3-4 but does this conflict with Rogue One?
We need a movie that takes place between 6-7, hello 30 years!

I would like to see one about the force after death aspect of the third movie. How they learn to project themselves as an identity

I can get behind Ewan in an obi-wan film, because he'd be bout the right age, but I don't think Liam would work. If its pre-TPM, then we would have to believe the character is 25 years younger than the actor.

Here's an easy solution to that - discanonize ? de-canonize - dump the PT. He can be whatever age you want!

Yes - have to add that PT-Basher icon to my profile.

Serously though - Liam Neeson is a fairly young looking guy for his age. I think he could pull it off. A nice solo mission right before Menace without a Padawan and kicking Dark Jedi ass some where.

As long as the movie kicks ass, him looking too old is a minor quibble. So I suppose I'd be all for it.

OK so I'll throw out some BS just for the sake of BS, but because its a stand alone spin-off of sorts.

Has anyone considered the 3rd to be a more dark, sith(s) history related movie? With say a very old 'back in the day' kind of darth; like a Bane, Malgus, Malak, Marr or Nihilus, Sion (take your pick damnit!), etc., but not exactly someone from EU directly but a character who's journey could drop these nice nuggets along the way that tie into little parts of all the other movies?! Yeah a little fan service here I get that, but with all the other good hero/jedi ideas floating out there, why not an evil one? i mean... 'balance' and all that in the universe.

    Hahaa could be fun.

I'd rather see this than a Boba Fett movie.

I agree , I was a huge fan of Fett as a kid and even got a tattoo of the skull on his armour. I don't like to prequel bash , but I haven't felt the same since they changed the familiar menacing voice us old guys knew.
I thought Qui Gon was a great character in TPM but I'd rather see an Obiwan film.

It's been said that there may be a re-specialized edition of ESB to put back the old voice and then a Boba Fett story that shows whoever is in the armor in V and VI being someone who killed the Daniel Logan whiny clone kid character off. I like that divorce from the PT stuff. And Boba Fett always sounds lame with a Kiwi accent.

Your answers are really interesting, because I can't remember The Phantom Menace well, just a Mr. Plinkett sketch where he first asked a bunch of people to describe Original Trilogy characters and they gave him long answers, and then he asked them to describe Qui-Gon and people had serious trouble answering. His bias was very anti-prequel, though (lots of critics thought the third movie was genuinely decent yet I can't remember him thinking there was much that was redeemable about it).

Well... unless they can make him look younger than I don't think he'd be cast in a spin-off. They'd have to cast a younger actor. But I would love to see him in an Obi-Wan spin-off movie as a force ghost. That would be amazing.

Wasn't Qui-Gon supposed to be around 60 at the time of his death? Liam Neeson is roughly about that age and he is still doing action films. But . . . wouldn't a stand alone film require Obi-Wan? And Ewan McGregor is not young enough.
