Why would Luke want an apprentice after what happened with his failed jedi order project, it seems illogical to me even if Rey has mighty potential. From a story standpoint I would say they´d have to strongly convince him to undertake teaching again. And probably hes also involved in something he believes to be way more important then everyday squabble, as someone here rightly pointed out.

good point, i was just thinking maybe lukes great project was Rey all along I mean after his jedi order failure, he might have realized he wasnt adept enough to teach the way of the force so he went out there looking for guidance and then he planned for a worthy padawan to find him. But I maybe wrong maybe he doesnt want anything to do with young ones, anymore. At least I cant wait to find out^^

i definitely can see him feeling doubt and concern due to his past failure ~ absolutely!
he's got some damage to overcome.
it's just a question of whether they'll spend precious screentime making dramatic use of that, or have him know that he must hop in (my sense of the ending of TFA is that he knows he needs to hop in, even though he's sad and reluctant).
and i agree he might have been waiting for a sign ~ and that sign is Rey.
