SPECULATION "Mara" Pulls It All Together

Even though your idea is kinda cool, it won't happen because you don't introduce such an important character like Luke's wife in the last episode. You know why? Because it pulls away the focus from the other characters.

 

Don't box yourself in a corner with an idea you love so when the movie comes around and doesn't hit it, you feel cheated or whatever. That's all I'm saying.

 

Exactly because of weak characters left for ep IX they are casting new lead episode IX character codename MARA.

Hip hip hurray!, we who expected Luke to had wife got hardest thing to hear in ep VIII, maybe now its turn for the others to get hardest thing to hear for them .

Or is suddenly hardest thing to hear not desired thing anymore and we should continue preparations for ReyLo festivities...undisturbed.......

 

Weak characters left? Excuse me? Kylo Ren is the most interesting character since, well, ever! Furthermore we already have four lead characters. So no, "Mara" won't be a lead character. Don't believe everything you read up on the internet.

 

If I would tell you what I think of Kylo Ren's story arc so far this post will break all records in negaive ratings ever and cause major breakdown of SWNN server.

 

This would be really great, challenging and brave thing to do.

Only thing that could and probably will prevent such scenario, is J.J.Abrams, who is conformist and unready to make risks.

Paradoxically, Rian Johnson, who literally has placed Luke Skywalker on a prepared stone altar and executed him there in front of millions of shocked fans without a blink of an eye, would be the one who could overturn story into something so radical as delivering Luke's wife in to a stoned faces of millions of ReyLos and Rey randomers.

J.J Abrams, do not have b... to do this I think.

I really don't see how this would fit into a story about Rey and Kylo Ren. Even if Luke did have a wife (he didn't) it wouldn't make any sense for her to be introduced in the final film.

Mara: "I'm your aunt"
Kylo Ren: "Okay? Who cares?"

 

Mara would say:

"Look boy, go away from my daughter, btw she is your cousin, go find your family ,.. oh wait , you murdered your own father , and killed heart of your mother so she died recently to,alone, well that's your problem ,not ours.".
(Mara from EU had long sharp tongue ).

I think both you and Kylo would "care " about Mara .

Reylo activists are so transparent .

 

I generally ignore you since you're in the business of beating a dead horse, but would you please quit calling me a "Reylo activist." I have no interest in a Rey/Ben romance. However, your devotion to Rey having Anakin DNA is nearly religious. So maybe it's not wise for you to attempt to label others.

Kylo has killed his father, attempted to kill Rey and Luke Skywalker. Why would he care about some lost aunt that's not central to the story? He is killing the past after all.

 

Kylo is , unfortunately , not any great character, but a coward that is escaping from facing demons of his past.

That is probably even worse fact about him than him been a patricidal murderer.

As such he should be dead end of his bloodline, which is unfortunate, he was son of beloved Han and Leia.

I have hope however of his eventual honorable death and redemption, for instance sacrificing his life to save life of his cousin , Rey, the last and only worthy left to carry on Skywalker's name and legacy.

That would redeem him in my eyes, and make his story arc at the end acceptable.

I have mentioned this in a couple of other threads but it does seem like some people are really hung up on the EU stuff. I loved the Thrawn Trilogy when it came out all those years ago. I was probably around 13 years old and even then I didn't read any more after that because I felt like if they ever made sequels it would all just be thrown away. I loved Mara Jade and Thrawn, but when the PT came out and Lucas expanded the lore it was even clearer that those books would be retconned out of existence.

For the people who love those books and those characters that's great. Those books still exist. They're not any less real simply because the movies went in another direction. If you don't like the new direction that's fine as well, but don't be one of those toxic people who name call and spam people with negative ratings.
