Totally agree with you. Electro was laughable. Too many puns way not many puns.

I follow Andrew Garfield on Twitter and he keeps posting articles talking about Spider-Man joining the MCU. Apparently he wants in on it.

Oh, he definitely is. He was campaigning for it in interviews when he was doing press for ASM2. I feel bad for the guy if Marvel gets spidey back and he gets the boot. He seems to really like the character and the genre.

If they do get Spidey back, I can't see them giving him the boot with all the energy he is creating for the character online. I heard Toby McGuire didn't enjoy making the movies he was in.

Odds are, he's not going to play Spider-Man in the MCU (which is a shame, because he's a good actor).

I think he'd actually be pretty good as another superhero, though. I'd want to see him as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic; but of course, they'd have to get those rights back first.

He might be more well-suited for the DCCU, though. I can see him working as Booster Gold, Green Arrow, and Animal Man, among others.

We’ll have to see how it plays out. Marvel is the 800 pound gorilla right now. They could cast talking pig in the role and still make a fortune off the movies. If they keep Garfield it will be because Sony forced their hand in order to get the rights or because they determine he’s the version of the character they want to present in the MCU.

I think Garfield had a lot of potential to be a great Spider Man but Sony squandered it. By the way I just signed the petition to get him in the MCU you guys should do the same if you have not!

Here's the link to it, just for reference. It's grown by over ten thousand signatures since I last posted it (Less than a day ago!), and that translates to tens of thousands of dollars in ticket sales. Sony needs to see this.

It's basically been confirmed that, no matter if the next Spider-Man movie is produced at Sony or Marvel Studios, the title character will not be played by Andrew Garfield again. In addition, Sony is already laying out plans to re-reboot the franchise by apparently abandoning their plans for The Amazing Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man 4, Sinister Six, Venom, Glass Ceiling, and the asinine Aunt May movie, though at this point, if they're going to reboot the franchise, then they might as well just sell the character back to Marvel and be done with it.

I'm almost debating on whether or not I should make a "SonyLeaks" thread.

A recap of what we've learned about the sorry state of Spider-Man from these e-mails (with a bit about Spectre and a silly crossover thrown in):
    • Marvel Studios wanted to include Spider-Man in a minor role in "Captain America: Civil War" to introduce him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and spearhhead a new series, with Sony Pictures retaining creative control and a cut of the profits, but Sony declined in favor of mapping out a new slew of standalone Spider-Man movies.
    • "The Amazing Spider-Man" series has pretty much been scrapped, and they'll reboot again. Andrew Garfield has apparently been fired after blaming the weaker aspects of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" on executive meddling, which infuriated several producers, and cancelling a meeting with Sony's CEO Kaz Irai at the last second. This is what caused "The Amazing Spider-Man 3", originally set to be released in 2016, to be scrapped.
    • Sony's conditions for Spider-Man to appear in "Civil War" were that it'd be used as a springboard to introduce the character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but his movies would still be produced by Sony. They also wanted final say in the matters of script, director, casting, costumes, locations and future plans, which probably disencouraged Marvel Studios from pursuing a deal.
    • Sony appeared to be interested in using "Civil War" set up "Sinister Six" and perhaps even rent out Captain America to appear in one of their movie quid pro quo.
    • One of the ideas is to introduce the new Spider-Man in the upcoming "Sinister Six" movie directed by Drew Goddard, which very likely won't meet its release date of November 13, 2016. Spider-Man and his enemies would already be active and join forces to fight a common enemy. Spider-Man would end up getting the alien symbiote, which he later discards because the Sinister Six thinks "it's lame". In a potential sequel, the symbiote would bond with another host and become Venom.
    • Another idea is to reintroduce Spider-Man in a more modest, standalone movie, retelling his origin in a brief opening segment and ignoring his parents entirely. Spider-Man would acquire the symbiote, in its Ultimate version as a biotechnological suit to cure cancer, which would then become Venom. Sequels would tackle other foes who haven't been in movies yet, like Carnage and the Hobgoblin.
    • There are plans of a "Venom" standalone movie, but several producers don't think he's a strong enough character to carry his own movie.
    • Sony Pictures director Amy Pascal reached out to Sam Raimi to produce and potentially direct the new "Spider-Man" movies, and Raimi appeared receptive to the idea. However, in another conversation with one of the producers, she dismissed Raimi's return as he went "full Joel Schumacher" with "Spider-Man 3".
    • Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Captain America: Civil War", wanted Spider-Man in the movie, and offered to produce the new reboot under their new production company, Bullit, should Avi Arad and Matt Tomalch be persuaded to leave the franchise. Incidentally, they revealed they are confirmed to direc the "Avengers: Infinity War" two-parter.
    • One of the ideas is to produce an animated movie written and directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, director of "The LEGO Movie". Incidentally, Sony is also considering a "Jump Street"/"Men in Black" crossover in which Jenko and Schmidt, played by Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, would be recruited to the MIB.
    • The female-led "Spider-Man" spin-off planned for 2017 focused on a group of original female characters that shares some sort of connection with Peter Parker. Sony is still interested in this project and "Sinister Six" to lay the groundwork for their new reboot universe.
    • The "Aunt May" spin-off, described as spy thriller, was also a real possibility despite Sony's constant denial.
    • There's a summit in January meant to decide Spider-Man's fate at Sony. Although the American producers have already declined the joint venture with Marvel Studios, the Japanese owners of the enterprise apparently have second thoughts and believe the deal could revive Spider-Man's public image and bring them much needed profit after the fallback of the hacking scandal. So, it's not ENTIRELY off the table.
    • Christoph Waltz is confirmed for playing Blofeld in "Spectre". The movie is overbudget and producers are currently figuring out how to cut costs. The script's third act has been been severely criticized and the studio appears to believe the "Bond" franchise has lost its mainstream appeal despite "Skyfall" being the first of the series to hit $1 billion in the worldwide box office.
    • Marvel Studios wants Spider-Man, but they don't need him. Their plans for the "Spider-Man" reboot is to begin with Peter already being Spider-Man for a year and focus on the difficulties of being a teenager and balancing his private life with his crimefighting duties. The romance which took center stage in most of Sony's movies would be a minor subplot. They also want a complete clean slate from previous movies, in favor of a new creative team.
If the argument about Spider-Man ditching the Symbiote Suit because the villains he teams up with think it's lame is true, then Sony deserves to lose the rights to the franchise.

So I just watched Guardians of the Galaxy again over the weekend and it got me thinking.
What infinity stones have been shown so far?
    1) The Tessaract from Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, & The Avengers
    2) The Aether from Thor: The Dark World
    3) The Orb from Guardians of the Galaxy

Is that it or am I missing something? And what stones are which?

I know some people at Marvel are saying Loki's staff is not one but I believe otherwise. It kind of has the powers of the mind gem.

Its really confusing because I thought the Aether was going to be the power gem but then I watched Guardians and was thrown for a loop when the orb also seems to be power. I think the Tessaract is defiantly the space gem. Your guess is as good as mine though.

    Edit 1
Here are the six gems if anyone wants to try and connect the dots.
    Mind
    Soul
    Power
    Reality
    Space
    Time

    Edit 2
You got my brain spinning and I thought about the Aether could be the Reality gem since the Dark Elves were going to use it to make the universe dark and I guess that qualifies as changing reality.

    According to this:
The Tessaract is the Blue/Time Stone
The Aether is the Orange (Red)/Reality Stone
The Orb is the Yellow (Purple)/Power Stone
Loki's Staff may hold the Red (Blue in the movie)/Mind Stone

I agree with all but the Tessaract being the Time Stone. Saw this in the comments in an article and thought it was funny and interesting at the same time.
