    That's not MCU, though...

*EDIT: THIS WAS PART OF A THREAD I CREATED THAT HAS NOW BEEN DELETED (in a way) SO IGNORE THIS COMNENT*

Hello there, Marvel fans! As most of you probably know, Marvel has recently announced a whole new line of movies for the upcoming years ahead of us, simply titled Phase 3 (Phase 3 is ending in 2019, if I remember correctly). I'm sure you all are wanting to talk about these movies, and if some of you are wanting to get your Captain America on, then this is the thread for you (I also suggest looking at this other thread created by Voxx that focus on all of the MCU, not just one specific movie). As the title states, this thread is about the P3 movie "Captain America: Civil War", staring Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. aka Captain America and Iron Man.
You can talk about anything related/about this movie and the Civil War comics (since they will give us a little idea as to what the movie is going to be like). Enjoy and don't forget to cast a vote on the poll I created! :)

May the Force be with you!

Bucky will be back - his actor has over half a dozen films to appear in on a contractual basis.

Well he may not be the ominous voice in The Force Awakens trailer but Benedict Cumberbatch is officially our Doctor Strange!

Directed by Scott Derrickson with Jon Spaihts writing the screenplay, it "will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions." "Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character."

This really awesome news because one of my favorite actors is bringing to life one of my favorite comic heroes!

    Update!
More Marvel casting news but this time for the highly anticipated Netflix shows. Some of the trades including the ever reliable Deadline are reporting that Breaking Bad's Krysten Ritter is going portray Jessica Jones. They also give a very vague synopsis for her show " a superhero suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes. On top of that they say Mike Colter has grabbed the role of Luke Cage! Big Marvel Day.

Picture for those unfamiliar with the two.

Love Kristyn Ritter and Benedict Cumberbatch but NOT a fan of Doctor Strange at all.

    In Feige we trust. :)

I've given up doubting their content choices at this point. As a life long X-Men/Spider-Man guy who was never big into any of the properties put out through MCU so far, I've decided just to trust them. Haven't been disappointed so far.

Strange is an interesting character. I'm looking forward to how they portray him onscreen.

They just need to get out of the superhero business. Maybe the will come to the same conclusion at the Spidey Summit in January. Did you also see that they approached Sam Raimi to return?

Man, I really hope they pull it off and Spidey is back with Marvel. A female centered Spiderman movie could work only if it was Black Cat and I could never wrap my head around how a Sinister Six movie could work. Vemon would be awesome but he's the same as Boba Fett, if you turn him into a hero he would loose his effect.
If Marvel does get the rights back, I hope they don't reboot him again, just merge his past Amazing movies into the MCU and give him a new movie after Civil War.

Yeah, they could really rehab that entire character with minimal effort and no time at all. Throw him in Cap 2. Give Garfield some real writing and a chance to show off in the proper format and restore audience belief in the franchise. And then put together a new movie with Marvel in creative control. A Spider-Man movie with the quality of the MCU would print money in ways we haven’t really seen from a comic book movie since The Dark Knight. It’s been so long since someone hit a grand slam of a movie with a slam dunk of a property (sorry for mixing metaphors). It would be huge.

I wouldn't mind them bringing Raimi back to direct either. I enjoyed his Spidey movies, besides SM3, ugh.
But with Whedon producing it could seriously be a sick movie.
Plus I like Garfield as an actor.

I’d take Raimi back in a heartbeat. SM3 was a protest movie. They forced him to include venom against his wishes and he let it show. But the first 2 were great. But Whedon, even though he would likely be gone from Marvel by the time it happens, would be a perfect fit. The tone of the humor in Spidey and Whedon’s writing is a marriage made in heaven.

They forced him to include Venom? Interesting.
    Whedon is leaving Marvel?!
