    This is my youngest daughter's (mid teens) playlist she made today for our outing.

    The best way I can describe some of these is as, "Horror carnival chip-tune indie musical rockabilly opera".
    She's the kind of person that knows the obscure indie stuff that you had no idea even existed as a concept.

    Except for Two Birds (which is an amazing song), what my ears heard in all of this was some strange blend of No Doubt, Devo, Queen, Meatloaf, David Bowie, Prince, Josh Groban, Phantom of the Opera, and Nintendo stuck in a blender.























    Here's just the track names. I included each of the songs youtube above because, at least to me, this is all new and fascinatingly strange - but also strangely captivating music. Incredibly complex (which checks out because she's one of those people who can hear something and just start playing it on her piano, guitar, whatever - and now she's learning violin... so I imagine she needs incredibly dense music to be interested). Kid loves her half-step melodies.

    By way of listening to some Steely Dan , The High Lamas, Millennium, Harper's Bizarre, Khruangbin , Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Beach Boys etc, I got recommended this band. Pretty good. Also sent me down a rabbit hole of similar new bands. Not bad but you can have too much of a good thing.

    Cantina, I am so proud of our oldest son, he is in his 2nd year at the University of Oklahoma. He is also in his 2nd year with the OU Men's Glee Club, all men's choir. Glee Clubs are kind of an old tradition at many Colleges, many still have active Glee Clubs. Here is one of my favorite pieces from this group of special young men, it is Viva L'Amour, a Glee Club favorite. Our son is 5th from the left on top row - yeah he is rocking the hair @Angelman !!! The OU Glee Club is led by Dr David Howard, he is a big SW fan and I have convinced him to dedicate a concert in the upcoming season to a tribute to John Williams - including having the Glee Club accompany the OU Orchestra on "Duel of the Fates"
