Music Time! I'll keep this limited to the best and most listened to songs.

First up is Aries, who is my new artist of the year (most likely), with one of the Songs of the Year in "Snake Eyes" and Most Listened To song "Fool's Gold." I just really like "Bad News."
There's a lot to say about "Snake Eyes," but the main point is that I heard the riff a year ago and I've been waiting for this song to be released for a LONG time now.

In the same vein, Wyatt Otis introduced me to Brakence, an artist who one of my best friends mentioned later independently. He recommended "Deepfake" towards the beginning of the year, but it took me a while to actually listen to the song.

After that we have "Sunrise" by Morgan Wallen. A break up song akin to the previous list I did, but I like it all the same.

In the same vein we have "IHYN" by F.N.

Next is "Transgender" by Crystal Castles. This song unsettles my soul in way that's hard to describe. I can't say I like that feeling, as I thin it could lead to some pretty unsafe places, but I do think that it's a novel experience.

On the other hand, we have Ludovico Einauldi's song "Experience." This song whispers in daydreams and sounds of nostalgia, of those moments and memories just out of touch but you can still see and feel. It makes you want to cry and laugh and dance and just sit still and reminisce, lost in reverie. It's a song you feel you've heard a thousand times but never knew the name of, but at the same time every time you hear it feels like the first time. This is a beautiful song, maybe the most beautiful I've heard in a long time...but that makes it dangerous.

The two above sort of find a middle ground in "Maria, Did U Hear" by Naper. This song is instrumental and feels like "Experience" and "Transgender" in the way that it taps into emotions rather than focusing on words. It's not a nightmare like "Transgender" but it's not a daydream like "Experience." It's a weird, sad dream, but one you don't regret experiencing.

Next we have "Fighting Myself" by Linkin Park, a song that reminds me of "Papercut" by the band but is also its own thing. I can see why they didn't include this on Meteora, but I can also see exactly where it fits.

"cut my fingers off" by Eithan Bortnick is a very manic song, but also a very interesting one. I really like it, and it's the theme for one of the books I read this spring. (The Captain by Will Wight.)

"Turn My Back" is one of my favorite songs on NF's new album HOPE.

Carrying to Christian songs, we've got "Praises" by Elevation Rhythm and "4th Quarter" by Big Breeze. Both are a little more...egocentric than God-centric, but I like them all the same. "Praises" reminds me of Halsey for some reason.

    That's all for now.

This is so pure and sporadic. I could listen to it for hours. Beautiful.

Pure magic. Apparently recorded during a Rolling Stone photo shoot and only recorded two years later for The Wild Heart solo album.

I wasn't that crazy about that album at first, after No Code and Yield I had really high expectations and it didn't do it for me. It has grown on me over the years but even the first time I heard it I really liked Insignificance and it was the standout track of the album for me. Still is.

Me I've been listening to this a lot because I'm trying to get the "bass" down, which George played on a Fender Telecaster instead of a bass. I don't have a Tele but it sounds good on my Strat.

(Edit: Not ME playing in that video, just the one I used to help work out how to play it)

That AI Drake song (aka the song someone used AI to sound like Drake to make) called "Heart On My Sleeve" is really catchy.

"Status Report" from Star Trek Discovery is really fascinating and fun, and now I want to see the whole episode. Between this and the Lower Decks crossover, I may actually want to watch the show!

My brother-in-law introduced this "Krusty Krew Anthem" to me as a joke, but it's hilarious and fun. VERY explicit though!

Thai McGrath makes really good "anime" opening renditions of songs for movies and games. The ones I've listened to and like are below. ("Calling" is my favorite and "What's Up Danger" is my least favorite):

Continuing with the anime and remix theme, we have EGOIST and the albums BANG and Touzisya. "Namaenai No Kaibutsu (GIGA Remix)" and "All Alone With You (Serph Remix)" are my themes for Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. The fact that these remixes alongside the titular song of Touzisya came out as promotion for the return of Psycho-Pass aka my favorite anime of all time is just more icing on the cake.

Last Night I was listening The Strokes. One of my favorites groups from the beggings of the 2000’s. But this time I was listening them live, after 22 years of waiting I finally went to a concert. Some pictures I took:
