Naboo is to be scoured... That is the final words in Shattered Empire #2.
Is the battle of Jakku taking place on a scoured Naboo... And since the planet has been burnt to a desert... Does it change the name due to this?

I highly doubt that Naboo will be in the movie. Besides the no prequel references tone, I think they want to take the opportunity of new movies to introduce as many new, or at least new to the big screen, planets as possible.

I'm quite certain Naboo survives. It appears in one of the interludes in Aftermath.

I hope that we will see Naboo in ST. It is one of my favorite planets.
But not destroyed. I want Naboo to be green and beautiful.

But then, Abrams wanted bones of Jar Jar to be on Jakku.Hmmmm
Why would bones of Jar Jar been on Jakku?!

    Naboo = Jakku ?! ( I hope not ).

No prison could hold Snoke he would use the force to pull down the foundations the he would make his emergence from the rubble, no prison escape proof anymore.

If it is I could see it as only a reference in the comics/books...No need to mention in movie... Irony of destruction of palpatines history (to keep the myth of him being other than just a normal man)

I could also see this as a way of seeing symbolism of the PT being no more, destroyed, forgotten

    Constantinople becomes Istanbul

    Naboo becomes Jakku

I'm not familiar with any of the new canon pertaining to Naboo, but I do think it would be cool to see it again at some point. That said I strongly doubt we will get ANY PT references in TFA what so ever. I can see it happening down the road in episode 8 or 9 or one of the spin offs though.

Let's stay positive maybe Naboo gets reworked and gets a more Star Warsy look.
But I doubt Nakku. In Lost Stars several attacks on Naboo are mentioned and the Battle of Jakku takes place. So in this book those are two different planets.

To me Naboo already looks Star Warsy enough. I just love the look of that planet.
I just hope that Naboo will show up in all its glory on ST, but not as Jakku. That would be too sad.

Why is Naboo being attack and what does the weapon do?

It seems that Naboo was a Princess Leia base during creation of the New Republic.

It seems that Palpatine really hated his home planet.

No. Naboo is Mid Rim, Jakku is Outer Rim. And they are both mentioned in Aftermath.
    Also,
The Jakku interlude has a man named Corwin saying he is there because he wants to get far away from the war. I doubt he would consider it far from the war if it was a war ravaged Naboo.
    "You brought your family here?"
"I did. Wanted to take them as far away from the fighting as I could. A place where the war will never find us. The farthest-flung nowhere rock I could find on a star map."
"Well, you found it, buddy. You don't get more nowhere than here. War ain't got no reason to roll up on this rock.
    "

Naboo is very close to Tatooine. Tatooine is Outer Rim.
Naboo is on border between Mid and Outer Rim.

First time posting! I can't lurk anymore

Interesting seeing Leia on Naboo in Shattered Empire. It got me thinking....both Luke and Leia are heirs to the throne of Naboo, since their mom was Padme...right?

Not at all. Naboo is a democracy where kings and queens are elected by the people. There are different queens than Padmé in episode 2 and 3.
