Poor quad jumper, it thought it was going to be the new millennium falcon of the trilogy,

but the tie fighter was like NOPE!

I stand corrected. That is a TIE fighter from the evidence you guys provided. But give me SOME props, it would have been epic if it played out the way I thought it would. Lol. I just cant wait. I'm hoping Finn and Rey are both force sensitive, and remain the heroes of this new trilogy, but I keep getting vibes that Rey is going to be tempted to the dark side. She's emotional in everything we've seen. Talking about her family, angry while shooting her blaster at Ren, crying over a body. I might be wrong ofcourse, but would LOVE to see a Brother-Sister villain combo for this trilogy. I'm ready for whatever though and I just can't wait.

 

Oh no I hope this isn't fodder for some to go nuts over. I fear the newly born college cry-bullies might bite on this.

 

I don't know what a newly born college cry-bully is, but the salute is just an extension of an already clearly established metaphor that goes all the way back to 1977. Thanks to the internet, I'm sure someone will have something to say about it. But I don't see it actually being any sort of issue.

 

Unfortunately you may be in for a very big lesson in what that is. It only took a few minutes for people to draw the black power salute parallel in these forums once the movie hits general release I cannot see it not being an issue for at least the a very vocal few that will read into it whatever they can to be offended by it. I guess the real question will be how much traction will it gain.

best I can say about it..

 

IF someone would actually complain because of the Black Power thing, i would actually make a meme with the pic upstairs and like make it say "White Power, White Power" just for the sake of pointing out that its dumb to actually identifing star wars with an actual race thing.
Probably the crybabies who complained about finn being black are the same complaining that the stormtroopers are doing the whole black power sign thing. ITS DUMB!

To me it looks like a Nazi thing, i have seen J.J compare the first order to the "what if the nazis regrouped in argentina and became a world power again" kinda deal. I think they aim more towards that imagery.

 

It's the internet, so anything can and will be said. How much you pay attention to it is up to you.

For the rest of us, the Nazi allegory is obvious.
