Does anyone besides me notice the GLARING mismatched action between the final two shots.

In the first shot they've stopped running... then in the second shot, they're still running and slowing down.

    WTF!

The Pentatonix thing was totally cheesy, pretty embarrassing. But the new clip was cool.

    Ok. Here....

The second to last shot, where the quad ship takes the tie blast and explodes. Watch Finn and Rey.... In that shot, you'll see them slow to a standstill in shock at the explosion.

Then - it cuts to a two shot of their reaction (their faces) from a front angle.

    BUT, they're still running/slowing down.

Action is supposed to be edited seamlessly, as if what was happening in real time. This breaks a basic cinematic rule.

It's basically like: We see them running - BOOM - they slow down in shock - WE CUT TO A DIFFERENT ANGLE - but now they're still moving, and haven't slowed down yet.

If this jarring cut is specific to the promo clip, that's fine by me. But they took a YEAR to picture lock this film (wrapped in Nov 2014, picture locked two weeks ago). Sloppy continuity errors like this one shouldn't be present. If this is in the finished movie, I'm not going to be happy.

    Agreed.

If they wanted a John Williams tribute, they could have just gone with this:

Rey's delivery is a little weird to be honest, Finn's is on point, and I love the way BB-8 keeps turning his head.

I noticed that almost immediately as well. Then again, I almost always notice how action in most movies tends to be edited inconsistently from shot to shot. On top of that though the voices in this clip sound like obvious ADR work, especially Daisy Ridley here. It's like she's yelling at the top of her lungs on film, but her voice doesn't seem to match that same level of intensity.

It looked okay to me. It looks like they are still moving more than they actually are because on the second shot of their reaction the camera zooms in closer to their faces (JJ style camera work). By the way you are overreacting. It's kind of embarrassing.

I don't think the editing was jarring, but I agree that Rey sounds as if she has lost her keys and tells Finn she's going over to that quadsomethingsomething to see if she forgot them in the backseat.

Cool story! Now shut up and eat your apple.
The only reason he brought it up is because the audition script - which I just alluded to when quoting Magnar, in case you aren't familiar with it - actually used dialogue from The Hunger Games as a basis for testing out potential cast members for the two characters. I'm no fan of forcing comparisons, but I'd hardly be surprised if the Rey/Finn dynamic bears some resemblance to the Katniss/Peeta one.

Nooo! I don't like Pentatonix. It is in simmilar vein like David Guetta scoring the whole Star Wars movie, LOL.
Just cheesy and pop. Some people may like it, but I haven't even watched it.
After seeing their Daft Punk cover, I made a promise that I'll never watch them again.

Although that is a TIE in the air, go back and watch the scene closely. Shortly after the scene starts you do get a glimpse of the Falcon. They run by it on their way to the Quad Jumper

    1. We're seeing too much and I'm wondering why....like they're worried about our expectations at the premiere if we go in fresh??
    2. Rey's delivery of her lines isn't great.
    3. The editing of the final 2 shots is appalling.
    4. Bring back George.

    Wow!

    The movie looks awesome!

Star Wars is back, it feels real.

I love Rey and Finn already.

The quality is terrible but... is this it?

Also, people, you are insane. There is nothing wrong with Daisy's acting. They are both fine - as much as you can determine based on 2 sentences while they are running and things explode around them.

All I can say is that I found it comedic, but not in a good way. It's all subjective though. ;)

The acting at the start of that clip is great. I love how Rey throws her arm out as she says "We've got one!" it just oozes charisma and is pretty comical in its own way.
