True. And let's remember that looks like Rey is gonna save Finn. She's the one in the lead in that scene: she offers her hand to him, then they run to the Falcon and she's the one piloting.

I guess it's also a matter of character's persona - Luke wasn't the most beloved character in ANH because he was too "pure" and innocent, and most of the people liked Han Solo more. I think the chemistry between Rey and Finn will be similar.

I still think Daisy will do a good job, but that editing and awkward repeat of them stopping is hacky.

Either JJ's standards have dropped, or Disney has taken control. I also want to know who I should blame if I hate the story.

Sadly, some of you are nitpicking..... Lets give the entire film a whirl before we completely trash J.J.
Lets see what goes down. I also understand your concerns Fartkraum but give it a minute friend.

Everyone is free of complaining about what they want, though.... nitpicking about details in a preview clip of merely seconds (and we are not talking here about a preview clip of a Gungan stepping on poop) makes me realize that a lot of us are way WAY too over-hyped about this movie. This is dangerous, and leads directly to a guaranteed disappointment. The Force Awakens won't be Citizen Kane, The Godfather Part II or even Empire Strikes Back. And moreover... this movie, I repeat, is not aimed at us... but at a brand new generation of Star Wars fans. It's a vast universe that deserves to live for a long long time. Star Wars has entered a bigger universe... it will be different... its marketing is different, its editing, pace, camera angles and acting will all be different. But rest assured, the core, the soul of Star Wars will be there... the story, the characters with JJ and Disney paying homage to old time fans and Lucas' legacy.

As for the scene itself... it got me excited, reminded me of Old Indiana Jones and Star Wars films. Rey and Finn in that clip gave more energy than everything I have seen from the prequel trilogy.

TFA won't be without its flaws, and they've gone ahead and started filming episode 8 before getting proper audience feedback...

Therefore i'm entitled to complain before I see the movie! :D see how that works Disney?

Unfortunately its the people who militantly love everything (the fanboys) who ruin franchises.. the people who dislike any post which criticizes anything and cup their hands to their ears like "Nanana I can't hear you! (dad) Kill the troll! You're entitled! You're more of a Star Wars fan than 99% of people working on the movie, but stop acting entitled!"

And well.. I DO want to know who to blame if the story isn't great.. its gonna be really frustrating not to know who is responsible if it stinks on Hoth ice. We can't all just point at Lucas and say "Burn the witch!" like last time

But hey.. keep telling yourselves i'm a grumpy grinch, just being honest.. I'm very hyped for the film and I want this trilogy to be as good as possible!

This is constructive criticism, not hate.. I've had kinder words for Daisy's performance in that clip than almost everyone else in this thread!

It will only be great if it connects with the audience. Right now I connect with what I have seen so far. Although, I am worried that a specific actor may get killed off but if it moves the story I will live.
