Hello, hello world!

Name's Anasa. My first memory of anything Star Wars came when I was four years old, watching the ROTJ. The strongest memory I have (and it's just an image, really) was the Ewoks.

WAIT!

I was four and I saw only half the movie on TV, which was when the prequel TPM hit the theaters in 1991. Star Wars was in again and the TV channel thought it a good idea to air the OT for some high views. I didn't know anything about the plot or the characters; I just saw teddy bears and the four-year-old me smiled. Then, I remember watching the throne room confrontation and feeling sad and anxious.

Basically, my first experience with Star Wars was emotions galore, rather than clear memories.

I continued my life without much of a further care, until the news that Disney bought LF came out and that they would start producing new movies. That was when I thought that it would be a good idea to watch everything as an adult. Of course, as a new fan I came across the typical: Prequel hate, special editions controversy...

To say the truth, I'm neutral towards the prequels. They're legit bad movies, but I did find them fferign to the universe. The problem is that I care more about the human, dramatic stories of SW rather than the universe or the mythos. Sacrilege, I know, but I found the characters of the OT so lovable that I cannot divorce my interest towards their personal stories from any interest the world has to offer. Which is why I don't feel any desire to watch Rebels currently (even though it's among my future plans), even though Clone Wars is of more immediate concern for me.

Favourite movie so far is ROTJ and favourite character of all seven movies is Luke Skywalker.

Hello Guys I'm Sonny. I started watching star wars recently. I refused to watch it for a long time because of the unique characters. Gave it a chance and it didn't disappoint me to be honest. My favorite character is Darth vader.

I've a quick question: How do I rate posts? Having read the FAQ and rules, I think I've reached the minimum # of posts to be able to give ratings, but I don't see how to? Where do I look? Thanks for the help in advance.

 

when you scroll over the thick grey bar under the post, you'll see all the rating icons. click on one and it will rate the post. you can always change your mind and switch ratings if you click the wrong thing. have fun!

Hello Everyone!

I am a lifelong Star Wars fan who has seen all of the films in the theater (except for A New Hope, but I saw the re-release in the 90s). I also read a lot of the books, which really hurts after Disney made them all irrelevant! Recently, I have been avoiding all possible spoilers- only watching the first trailer of E8. It is great to be completely surprised by the characters, but I feel that I am missing out on a lot of important information that you receive from intelligent conversation before the movies are released!
