I actually enjoyed it. Reawakening the ancient sith lord would restart the Jedi vs Sith conflict. Maybe after VII the Sith and the Jedi would create huge armies and fight each other in numbers once more.

I don't care about "clicks" as you say. It doesn't matter. I don't care about "first" either. I care about interesting pieces coupled with plausibility. Clicks don't matter because we don't share our stats. No one cares.

 

I like some elements of it, but I don't buy the notion of lightsabers unlocking things or bearing information. They are weapons, and that is pretty much it.

 

You read it right? Because it makes it veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery clear that its not the lightsaber... at all, its actually something (the crystal probably) within the lightsaber.

If I hid a secret package in a hammer, would you say "that secret package isn't important because hammers are just weapons"

 

I like everything I read except for the part about Pip Andersen. It would be a shame if his character got killed off in the beginning of the film. That's the only part I hope is not true. Of course, it does say "rumored to be played by Pip Andersen" and I hope that's all it ends up being, just a rumor. Besides that, everything else sounds pretty cool.

 

It would be really odd if someone based a feeling of success off how many "clicks" they get. We all love Star Wars and in my mind the idea is for us to share in the experience. Sites that don't value this are ones I stay away from. I'm not calling out any sites, but I do love that this site has the cantina. There are some fantastic people here and I can rant on and on about Star Wars without getting the "Chris ... again with the Star Wars" look

I have yet to be disappointed by any of the rumours, they all sound fine as long as you

1. Tell the story well
2. Inject life into your characters. I felt more intensity and sense of concern from John Boyega freaking out in a desert for 2 seconds than i felt from liam neeson throughout the whole of the phantom menace for crying out loud.

If JJ and Kasdan can do that, i'm fine.

Both he and Daisy Ridley just signed with a major talent agency. (The same one that represents Oscar Isaac.) I doubt that this agency would pursue Pip if he was just going to be a simple extra and die in the first few minutes.

He also did some motion capture work. Probably because of his Parkour skills... if not as a virtual stunt double, maybe as a creature. At the very least I see Pip being involved in a multitude of ways.

 

The Luke and ancient evil tomb scenario sound overly Lord of the Rings to me, but Star Wars is a weird mish-mash of genres and this scenario isn't unlikely. Applying logic - which isn't always the best way to scrutinise space fantasy - rather than Luke becoming stressed and unstable by his fear of unleashing the contents of the tomb, he could have long since set up sensors and added defensive systems to keep it safe, and maybe lived on a nearby world so that the corruption of the tomb would have a less detrimental effect on his mental health. Not a good tactic to willingly weaken his mind and focus if an assault on the tomb could come at any time. And, that's why logic doesn't gel with Star Wars - there'd be far fewer stories otherwise

 

If there is a Sith ghost/entity in the tomb could this be Serkis' character in mo-cap?

 

It'd be more interesting and surprising if any malign energy in the hypothetical tomb was not a Sith Lord. Kylo Ren could be led along the garden path and his obsession for locating Jedi and Sith artifacts completely blinkers him. He wants power and prestige from opening the tomb, but what he finds he and the galaxy have no familiarity with or immediate protection from...
