SPECULATION New Star Destroyer

Is the new Star Destroyer pure white, or just a glare?

  1. It's white, no doubt!

They don't strictly operate in the vacuum of space.

My bad, i completely forgot that they are built on planets and do go atmospheric. It might be a coat of white to prevent something when they are in an atmospheric.

Where is it stated that Star Destroyers are built on planets (this ain't nuTrek, is it)? Still looks like a very impractical construction technique to me, considering there are probably plenty of spacedocks and the like.

If Star Destroyers had been intended to be capable of atmospheric flight, why didn't we see any over Mos Eisley, next to Cloud City or in the vicinity of the Endor shield generator?

It's possible to build on planets and as well in space. In real world terms, there's something called cold-welding as well as normal welding and they'd use pressurization as in jet liners and space shuttles. Also the Death Star(s) were both built in space as well as SKB I know because I come from a family of working in the naval industry building real world equivalents of these star destroyers but cold welding in space would be the most logical in The SW Uniferse and to answer why we don't see any atmospheric flights in Endor & Cloud Citt is because of budget/tech restraints but we do see them in ROTS and AOTC .

Also, as ‘Rebels’ now being canon, you can see actual class 1 star destroyers in atmospheric flight e.g. over Lothal’s capital city.

I’m just wondering why the full firepower of such a capital ship was never used during atmospheric flights, at least not in any film or animated series. This must be awesome to watch and should meld down a city to slag in no-time.

They probably didn't want to waste all that energy on the ground when they already have all of that ground power...

Plus I'm sure the Death Star could "de-power" its weapons systems/have more than its main weapon to where it could destroy entire cities instead of a planet at once as well .
