i never said there was. repeatedly, in fact.

i said Kylo Ren doesn't understand clear moral boundaries in terms of what he's doing.
because people who fight out of a place of perceived (or real) oppression and/or desperation are convinced of their own righteousness.
one only needs believe their cause is just to excuse anything--no matter how dreadful their actions.

 

Marvel Studios is not my ideal place to draw story inspirations from. They are usually thin at best. I expect a while lot more from Star Wars. The example you provided is one of the many problems in their universe that I do not want to see happening in the SW canon. That mistake being no stakes and major ramifications.

 

That Loki comparison was to illustrate the GA's ability to forgive murder and stuff as long as the characters in-universe forgive them, not as an example of good writing.

 

i'm typically the moral weathervane among my friends and i laugh at the fact that i forgive Loki. not even because of anything he's done, but just because i want to. i want him and Thor to stop fighting. i want him to forgive Odin. you can't deny Loki his essential nature as a trickster, but Marvel certainly made it easy to forget that he's a murderer. [shrug].

there will be fans who will not be convinced to forgive Ben for anything, ever. that, to me, is their loss.
there's a time for righteous anger and there's a time for forgiveness.
we want Kylo Ren to have mercy and compassion for a village full of people, but we won't afford him the same mercy and compassion once he himself is disarmed?

that's not the world that Star Wars espouses.

excuse 2: that's why Rey's emoji is laughing, because ha ha, he's so dum that incest is funny (especially for children).
