Doing some thinking here after what happened in the battle of REY and REN in Episode VII. It seems that REY got the best of him. (fu**ed him up pretty darn well).I have been having some thoughts about the early VII concept art of KYLO REN. It is possible that this was some of the concept art that has leaked was for Episode 8. Could it be that J.J. was laying the ground work for what was to come?

Since Kylo wants to badly be like his grandfather Darth Vader, he seems to slowly be getting his wish.

He has started down the dark path.......

What do you think his progression will be in this film?

He peels off his skin and replaces it with Vader Look-Alike Cyberknetics and is all like, "Are you proud of me NOW, Grandfather ?!"

I don't really know...but in the art book they also had an older Luke with the Vader Helmet....Might just have been a storyline change? So perhaps at the time Luke was supposed to be the 'gravedigger'.. Who knows maybe Luke will wind up being the big bad after all..... Screenshot_2015-12-24-05-02-47-picsay.jpg

I think that they really just liked the idea of someone worshipping Vader and holding the helmet...

How do you all think Kylo Ren rationalizes Darth Vader's ultimate rejection of the Dark Side by saving his son and killing Emperor Palpatine? Yes, Darth Vader's legacy involves wrecking Tusken Raiders, slaughtering younglings and becoming one of the most powerful Dark Side users of all time, but it also ends with him becoming a (presumably) light side Force Ghost. As Kylo was Luke's apprentice at some point, is it wrong to assume that at some point Luke told him what actually happened with Vader?

I guess it could be explained away by Snoke showing him a false Force Illusion showing Luke killing Vader and Palpatine, with Kylo believing the illusion and rejecting Luke's story.

    What do you all think?

Kylo is aware of Vader's turn to the light, but Snoke has rationalized it for him as a moment of weakness to perpetual temptation.
Which is why Kylo is so adamant about rejecting the light.

Remember Kylo mentioned he could feel the pull of the light. Maybe Anakin Ghost pulling him.

Can't deny the helmet worship, neither the Hamlet invocations. But in Episode VIII Kylo Ren will be a scared man, wearing a mark of shame on his face and that could bring him deeper to the Dark Side.

On the other hand i would REALLY LIKE if Kylo Ren would be the actual leading role in this trilogy, just make the bad wanna be the main character and follow his path into the Darkness (they kinda wanted to do that with Anakin in the Prequels but lost it along that tortuous way), and that can only mean one ending..... Kylo Ren kills them all, kills Snoke, Rey and Luke, perhaps even Leia his mother.

(of couse this is just fan gore dreams, it's Disney now. in the end the bad guys die and good princess live in a castle happier for ever)

Interesting. Is there something in the novelization that supports this? Apparently, Snoke was drawn to Kylo Ren precisely because of the light and the dark in him - at least that is what people have said about the TFA novel.

I was looking forward to the cyborg in art of force awakens book. But it's not there. Just a few that are similar. Maybe they was fake or they holding it back to use. It also had a mash up of anakin and Vader that does look like the cyborg

Kylo is on a path of"Be careful what you wish for you just might get it."

I believe he will end up like Vader in the end and be redeemed just like his grandfather. Same path in a different way.

It's his biggest fear;being turned back to the light.

Kylo and Snoke actually takl about it.

I just hope they let Driver grow his mustache - he looks way better that way. It would also be a nice way to signal the grow and maturity of Kylo (the Sith?)

I personally think Luke will be much more of a Yoda/Obi wan character for VIII. He may get in on the adventure a bit and by the ST's end I'm sure we seem him back in lightsaber action but it may not be until IX. As for Kylo I think TFA set up his even more severe slide into darkness even though it showed his inner conflict as well. Now that "the monkey is off his back" he's probably convinced himself that he has been fully initiated as darkside powerhouse very much in the same respect that Yoda and Obi wan told Luke he needed to destroy Vader. Kylo still has training to complete as Snoke mentions at the end of the film so we will see how much that plays into Kylo's role in VIII. It's hard to say without knowing what the time gap is between the two movies. As far as his injuries go, I don't think he was injured anywhere near enough to appear cyborg. No limbs were lost and he was cut across the face. We will probably just see facial scaring. The concepts shown of the cyborg holding the Vader mask were very early concepts of "jedi killer" aka Kylo. Those ideas were part of the story revolving around the Vader mask and were scrapped. There is info on it in the concept art book that is out now.

I wonder how Kylo will be portrayed in the next installment. Sure, he will be even more messed up and full of hate towards Rey and Finn, and will want to have his revenge. But I am wondering if his Vader fanboy infatuation will play a smaller role, and we see him grow more dangerous, more evil; also, in terms of what he is wearing. In TFA he has pretty much copy-pasted Vader's look (with dark armour, helmet and a cape). Towards end of the film he lost the helmet (unless he magically had time to heal himself, levitate to the bottom of the shaft and fetch the helmet before the planet exploded), which makes me wonder if he will be helmet-less in the next movie.

That would be interesting. Though, drama-wise, it could also be a powerful scene when (if?) he meets Rey/Finn and removes his new helmet, revealing his deformed face. But then I noticed myself wondering if he would have a new helmet, or copy of the old one...

Just a thought I started toying with....

Something in me feels like he will definitely take advantage of his scars and deformities and make himself even more like Vader. Do you think Rian Johnson will show the gross transformations of his human parts becoming machine?
