Official Finn Episode VIII thread

I believe in the Last Jedi the Trio will be Luke & Rey & Kylo Ren that why those three are on the Last Jedi Poster story will really be about these three.

Abrams isn't a hack.
He changed his mind because Poe was a good character.
Finn's main purpose was to drive the story but good to see "Finn fans" still trying to belittle this.

Finn looks like he's in his TFA pose. Also looks like he's holding a saber again.

 

It looks like fan art. I'm pretty sure all of the images in it are TFA promo stuff.

 

That's kinda what I figured. Almost kinda looks like someone slapped the TLJ logo over a TFA poster.

Well, that really hits the nail on the head.

And poor Phasma, with a yet again reduced role in something.

 

This argument I think is silly. Vader was never part of the original bug three. Kylo is an antagonist even if he is destined to be redeemed. The early marketing push for TFA had Poe, Finn, and Rey. Kylo is not yet on the side of the angels even if he is a major force in the drama.

 

I doubt it - Poe was susposed to die until fairly late in pre-production (the role had been cast and everything)

 

Direct comparisons are hard to make, because despite what some random keyboard warriors want to tell you, the ST isn't just a rehash of the OT.

That being said, I think Poe fulfilled a sort of "Wedge" like role in TFA- well liked supporting actor, and a pilot to boot. That's not to say that he won't be even more important in TLJ.
From a marketing standpoint, I think he was portrayed as part of the "trio". We just haven't seen that very strongly in a film yet.

As for Kylo- he was far more prominent than Poe in the film, but I don't see him as part of the "trio".

 

Its nots a rehash, but you also can't deny it was clearly designed to mirror ANH in a lot of ways. Looking for a trio is reasonable.

I think Poe is now part of that trio, HOWEVER I also don't think in the planning/earlier stages of development that was the case because we know he was susposed to die for a long time. Maybe it wasn't a trio in those early stages, maybe Kylo was considered part of it......

 

It resembles ANH in parts, as was clearly the intent.

Yeah, that's what I figure happened to Poe, too, as we know that he was rescued from the chopping block. I expect that we may see the "trio" develop more in TLJ. I am interested to see how Rose fits into that, though.

Sure but when the time came to do the baton passing marketing push there were many articles and pictures MARKETING them as the new 3. I am not suggesting that Poe was as significant as Finn or Rey in TFA I am saying TPTB hyped those three in the build up.

Also Finn is Kyle Katarn they both was former stormtrooper and deflect , Kyle Katarn found out he was force senstive and trained him self to be a Jedi, Finn's character resemble him in may ways.
