Official Finn Episode VIII thread

If star wars be smart they make Finn a force users and we see him using the force either at the end of 8 or 9. If we look at star wars non-Canon there is more than 2 force users in legends more then 2 force users make the star wars stories great along with other non force users or force users who are non Jedi.

In 8 we see these two main characters with their mentors developing them Rey with Luke, and Finn with Leia . Then we see what they learnt and team up and work together and who ever dont like that you like that stormtrooper in the back of the picture just hatters and that why Finn and Rey is just keep moving on you!! Like you not even there!!!

 

Some click clouded on my post, but the reality be Rey, Finn and Poe why they can not be new Jedi in the trilogy , Rey being stronger with the force she will be the leader of the pack, Finn we already see he can hold a lightsaber and never was trained as a Jedi, and he even strucked a hit with it on Kylo Ren, and he even killed a stormtrooper dont say Han Solo used a lightsaber but he did not kill a stormtrooper with it, and he did not fight vader with it either. Poe he flys and shoot real good, he destroyed the starkiller base image now Poe is force to learn how to use a lightsaber because this will be a strategy that will give Resistance ability to defeat the first order.

 

I hear you. I clicked clouded because I am not opposed to the ideas. But I don't see it happening. It might but it doesn't seem likely. I still hope Finn is Jedi bound. Poe has less of a chance I think. So I picked clouded because its a neutral rating.

Most people who don't *think* Finn is force sensitive aren't against more force sensitive characters or think it should end with Rey.
They just don't think there's any ACTUAL EVIDENCE for Finn as of now.

 

....or that the story narrative they're presenting toward us right now is leaning toward that.

 

The vibe I'm getting from interviews and trailers , spoilers & leaks that appear to be true and bits of information Star Wars not heading in the direction with Finn, even the leaks about Last Jedi toys of Finn they do look corny. So he might just be gun guy of Star Wars, or is he#$#@?

Maybe they want to make Finn force sensitive but as a gunner not in a Jedi way. With Han Solo they said he was force sensitive but we did not see how he was, I think they fix this image with Finn showing he force sensitive but he will just be a plain guy a fighter who have an ability not like an other normal person.

John Boyega said in the interview " you know Rey is the Jedi". So that a spoiler we all knew and Finn he just the gunner guy.

Correction no, not in a sense strong with it but on a very minor level , rather yet touch of the force

A clarification (because I believe it is needed) - all of the living beings that were born in the Galaxy Far, Far Away have midichlorians, thus all of them have a capability of becoming Force Sensitive. What the number of midichlorians determines is not someone's Force powers. It determines the ease with which a person becomes more powerful in the Force - this means that technically every living creature can become as adept in the Force as Yoda or Palpatine, the difference is with time one needs to train to gather such power.

In the context that he made the comment "We know Rey's the Jedi." he's simply making the point that she's the only one with a clear arc at the moment. It's not meant as a confirmation that Finn isn't force-sensitive or won't be a Jedi. He makes it clear that he doesn't know the direction of Finn when he says he wants to know where all the characters fit just like other fans.
With that being said, I wish someone would ask him what he thinks about Finn being force-sensitive, if for no reason other reason we can at least know what he thinks about the idea.

 

He would just equivocate and not answer the question. I mean if it's not a direction they at least thought about going, I think they would shoot it down as it was unproductive speculation. But it's one of the questions that keeps discussion up. Does the notion that they have thought about it mean they're going to do it? No. But it's seems obvious there are 3 questions they are stringing out (and to let me tell it, needlessly in some instances).

1. Is Finn FS and will he become a Jedi
2. Who are Rey's parents
3. Will Kylo be redeemed

Those are the 3 most obvious and constantly debated aspects of the franchise thus far. Almost EVERY conversation about each one of those characters will devolve back to these questions given enough time. It's entirely by design (IMO).

 

I believe Finn is force sensitive and many other stated they felt the same way as in Daisy Ridely and others.

With Disney you never know some of the leaks and star wars last jedi theories at times I think they really are behind this things so it can be a misdirection in promotion to throw those theorist who are very good with such, as " throwing a wrench in their game" lol. From the toy leaks they do have Finn looking corny I am personal not impressed. But we do not know until we see the movie.

 

What from the toy leaks, makes Finn seem corny to you?

 

There really is a flood of metadata that makes it impossible (IMO) to get a definitive read on what they plan to do for the character. Each time I come up with something, something comes behind it and changes it. There doesn't seem to be much to his marketing at all. You could take that as:

1. They're being circumspect because there is some big reveal later
2. They're being circumspect because the "bait & switch" backfired and they're avoiding that by not overselling Finn

And either one could be right.
