Sure, BUT turning every character into a Jedi and/or Force user takes away from seeing characters with different styles and specialties - as I pointed out, it was a problem with the PT. Limiting the number of characters who can do that stuff makes it that much more badass, and lets you see a greater varity.

There's only so much you can do in Star Wars with the normals that distinguishes them from each other in any significant way. Especially if they're in a system like the Resistance where their skills are constantly in close proximity.
Finn being a pilot is cool but it does nothing really to distinguish him from Poe especially considering the fact that they now have basically the same exact role. Unless they kill Poe I don't see how Finn distinguishes himself any further if he doesn't have a force reveal. Which I hope at least haooens in IX. Now, I know some people have a problem with that possibility but I still want to see it.

Well to me Finn going 0-100 in piloting can be a hint toward a future force reveal.

That could actually be a good way of showing that despite the fact that he can fly it, he is still new at it. Hell even Rey knocked the Falcon around a bit when she first started flying it.

Article about Finn and Rose's adventure: http://ew.com/movies/2017/08/09/star-wars-last-jedi-finn-rose-john-boyega-kelly-marie-tran/

Nothing particularly new but it does confirm that the theme of Finn's story in TLJ is deciding whether to fight or not....yay?

    Also this section tickled me:
Like I've said before, it's a shame but TFA left little leeway in that regard. *sigh*

"I don't think EVERY hero needs to be a force user..."

There were a lot of issues with the Prequels, but having a lot of force users wasn't one of them in my mind. Like when a Jedi gave a huge smile after force pushing one little droid, or a jedi died trying to deflect blaster fire. Things like this allowed me to appreciate just how badass Anakin(when he's silent) and Obi Wan were.

On the flip side, we got to see Yoda's jedi and how weak they were for making them into emotionless robots for fear of them turning to the darkside. It would be interesting to see a new smaller jedi order with a different philosophy.

Now I don't think every movie/trilogy needs that many force users. But this one/two force users on each side makes every plot point that doesn't include them feel insignificant. Honestly, I think Star Wars should take some ques from the The Old Republic MMO; where you have baddass combatants that are not force users. Highly specialized characters that can actually kill force users to show that they are not the omnipotent beings of the universe.

Poe/Rose most likely taught him at some point and/or he is copilot maybe not knowing what the heck he is doing.

Bet that's him making that awkward take-off. Just like when Rey nearly crashed the Falcon.

How many credits on Finn saying, "I got this, I got this" :p

The one thing that would confuse me is the timeline as he starts the movie in a coma (presumably)

More on the job training: cannons, light sabers, skimmers. All very interesting to me.

same here, it would be more interesting where if everyone refuses to help Finn because he is from the first order and hate him as as a result so he is forced to learn on his own, similar to the lightsaber thing

I'm not sure how you got this from my post. I personally think Finn's force sensitive.
