    That's why Luke said it's not going to go the way you think. Lol. Just because some people constantly make videos of Rey and leave out Finn doesn't change the fact that the interest in Rey has nothing to do with her as a character, but more about who she might connect with. We wanted to see Luke become a Jedi. We don't have the same interest in Rey, because she wasn't marketed to be one. Her story is about finding out who she is. Finn's story is about finding something to fight for. Since this is Star Wars and fighting is a big part of it, I think It's safe to say that Finn is expected to handle that.

    It sucks how Rey couldn't lead the force awakens on her own all she did was leech off of others achievements and use the force , Which forced her as the main character also they gave her the millennium falcon and some nice theme music but it seems like it's inauthentic The force awakens was more fins story other than Rey getting a miraculous force vision which also forced her to be a (or should I Say THE))main character.

    Another question is how would it have played out if Ray was promoted truthfully as the lead of this film from the jump I don't think it would have went well so they had to use fan so people won't start Frelling on Ray

    One thing I noticed in the BTS trailer for TLJ was when it said things have been shifted in a different direction to what you would expect they had John boyega saying it. spoiler alert?? LOL

    More accurately, she and Finn were marketed as co-leads for TFA. Which is exactly what they were. Much of the movie was carried on their shoulders - Finn is basically the protagonist in the sense that Qui-Gon was the protagonist of The Phantom Menace, even though he's not the main character.

    In TLJ, the big draw seems to be Rey, Luke Skywalker, and Kylo Ren - because most audience questions lie with those three characters and all three spend time on Ahch-To. That doesn't mean that the other characters are suddenly completely unimportant - just that there's less focus on them in the marketing.

    It's worth stressing that Poe and Finn alike are both included on all the toy packaging, which is where Star Wars money is really made anyways. For TFA, it was just Kylo Ren.

    No. I added that in the description for clarity because it sort of hinted at it. RJ has explained that Finn's story is his tale of finding out if he's fully committed to fighting the First Order or if he wants to get away from the war altogether. And everything they've described thus far indicates that he'll end up doing the former.

    Kind of parallel to what I wonder about Rey confronting Snoke, I wonder about the sequence of events that leads Finn to accept/take the undercover mission. Was it forced on him? Was it his idea? Did he balk initially and find a reason he should do it?

    Been gone for a while because of school so I mostly just read the last three pages of this thread.

    I noticed nobody answered your question about Finn Galfridian. Yes, Finn Galfridian is a different character from Finn of the new trilogy, but my suspicion has been that Finn Galfridian has been merged into the Finn of the movies in some shape or form. Just like Kylo Ren roughly parallels aspects of Jacen Solo from the old EU and Rey mimics his sister, Jaina, relatively. In the old EU, Jacen turned to the dark side becoming Darth Caedus in which Jaina had to confront him several times. During these confrontations (as well as many adventures prior to it) she was helped by a character named Zekk, who was force sensitive/force user/rogue Jedi-ish/on again, off again love interest and a character named Jagged Fel who was a rogue/trooper/on again, off again love interest and her eventual husband.

    If they are pulling inspiration from the old EU, and my suspicions are they are, then I suspect Finn may be a merger of Finn Galfridian, Zekk and Jagged Fel.
