SPECULATION OFFICIAL Rey Discussion Thread

Dude you are obsessed with Daisy Ridley performance? are you on the board of the Oscars or something? the subject of the thread is to discuss what the Character of Rey may be, thus her origin is important.

Star Wars is the saga of the Skywalker family, and KK already said the new trilogy will follow the same path, so people are speculating who is the next Skywalker.

I honestly can't get my head around how your thought process works, you connect accents with nature of people, and Rey's lineage with Daisy Ridley's acting, what nobody remotely even mentioned together.

I'm really trying, but can't.

 

A theory I haven't seen mentioned about her connection to Kylo Ren is this. Maybe they know each other because she was once part of the Knights of Ren? If you look at the weapons that the other knights use, they're kind of all didfferent but for the most part all melee weapons. Rey's weapon is a staff and we all know she does use it based off the latest tv spot released. The reason she's on Jakku hiding and "waiting" for her family is because she quit the knights because she realized how nuts they all are. So staying on a remote dust ball of a planet would be a great place to lay low. I'm still thinking she's the daughter of Luke and joined the knights because wanted to help her "cousin" Kylo. Or she knew he had gone bad and decided to go undercover in an attempt to get close to him and maybe sway him back to the side of good? It's just a thought that's been bouncing around in my head for the past few weeks.

 

Interesting theory, but the more i think the more i believe that Kylo Ren is an actual title, that whoever is the lead of the Knights of Ren is called that, wears the mask and have the lightsaber.

I think both Kylo (whatever name he might have) and Rey, both Han's and Leia kids are kidnapped or attempted to be kidnapped by the Knights but Rey somehow escapes, she knows that figure is menacing and she know the lightsaber, but she doesn't know yet that the guy behind the mask is her Brother ou Cousin in your scenario.

Because of all the merged threads into here, many of the "permalinks" for the Rey index are currently broken (not so permanent, evidently). So now I'm going to have to fix them!

That is a different add to my idea. I like it! The idea that the mask and lightsaber are handed down to each new "Ren" is cool.

Classic Star Wars. They were going to establish a similar thing with Anakin in TPM deleted scenes. Rey is powerful. But she has no discipline and needs to learn to control her emotions.

 

A fruit don't fall far from the tree, she is her Grandpa kid no doubt, Anakin without no training would probably like that, also anyone who probably lived the life she has would need to be really aggressive in order to survive, i don't think the Jedi code will take you far in Jakku

I think comparing where she is with where Luke was in A New Hope, i think she will need less training than Luke from a combat point of view, and more training on the anger control, philosophy of the Jedi and stuff.

 

It might turn out to be a ruse, but this tv spot is clearly implying that she is Han's kid.

It starts on a close up of Rey's face, and during this first line we zoom in on Han's face.

If we got a trailer showing Luke say "My daughter has the force" and then they zoomed into Rey's face, don't you think, at least some people would be justified in thinking that Rey was Luke's daughter? I know trailers are cut to mislead sometimes, but to me, the implication is clear.

 

Not necessarily, because you have just said daughter it makes it more profound, that spot would be far too easy. Just renumber what you see and what you are listning too could be two completey different things. in essence thinking about it you could be mapping out two different story lines, its realization of different angles.

I disagree.
Eyes are Skywalker eyes.

She has seen Anakin and Luke's eyes in her.

 

^^ Her eyes are actually hazel but just look green with the lighting they used in that interview.
