I think we're reading too much into the table read picture. We also have Luke next to Uber and Domhill next to C3PO etc. It could just be Harrison sat down next to the new girl, nothing else.

 

It was as staged as any political photo op is. I'm sure they want people to look at that photo 20 years from now and have it matter. I don't believe it was random or that Ridley deliberately chose to sit away from all the new cast.

 

Why not have Domhill face the camera then... he should be next to Adam Driver if only to have his face in it since he's new. I wouldn't have the writer facing the camera...

I'm not saying she couldn't be a Solo. I wouldn't be surprised at all. But using the cast photo as proof is foolish. Why not put her there to make us think she's a solo then find out nope Skywalker, fooled ya without having to lie!

 

Let's take an approach that every position in that picture is important and see what we can interpret.

Kasdan and Abrams are central focus, "top of the key" sort of deal. This gives a "It's in good hands guys" approach

Ridley is isolated from the new cast and straddled by "Han and Leia" which suggests detachment from the others she is different, and also alludes to the possibility of "these are my parents"

Driver sits isolated in his own manner, he shares a seat with the writer whereas the other cast members have their own seats or share it with another (I love how the angle gives an appearance of closeness between Boyega and Isaac).

Gleeson and Daniels have their backs to us. C-3PO has rarely been vital to the plot beyond his role as interpreter or conduit towards R2 (the true hero of Saga haha). In that same sense Gleeson will have a role in the story that isn't that important, the plot could travel without him

Just like my crazy "let's analyze the scripts" fiasco we try/think things and sometimes these things even work out

 

This is true (I have said so myself) but this is one of several nods to that maybe she is a solo, so lets not take one thing out of context. There are other pointers and this one perhaps staged photo call is one little thing that perhaps adds to the argument. Whether that photo call means nothing at all, its done its job. We are all talking about it. I am actually beginning to think she is a solo but granted am not taking it on that picture...

 

I find it very interesting (other than it being gorgeous music) that they chose "Leia's Theme" for the VFair behind the scenes vid.... and that theme the starts as soon as Daisy starts talking... just reinforcing this again......

I definitely think people are reading way too much in the table read photo.

It's a foregone conclusion Rey will be a Skywalker in the movie. I mean I don't think that's even up for debate at this point. The real question is who her father is. Han or Luke. There seems to be more that points to Han. But I wouldn't rule out Luke at all.

I suspect there is going to be a relationship twist we still don't know abaout yet involving either Rey or Kylo and the original characters.

Is it possible Rey's parentage may not be revealed until VIII? I mean, it sounds like a copy of ESB, but it makes me wonder.

 

I think she will know who her parents are... or at least have a memory of them. The twist is finding out who a baddie is related to.

Everything is missing at this point. How much dialogue have we heard? >1%

 

IMO..... shes not orphaned on some desolate world.... shes there by choice... perhaps several "mutual" choices for her to be there. She's in hiding and the events at the start of the film bring her out of hiding.... (ala Obi Wan) ....and that staff is very prominent.... shes never seen without it. It's the Plagueis staff or something else and an ancient lightsaber is attached to the end/hidden.. (kinda like one of those walking canes with a hidden knife) Kylo wants THAT

 

I'm going to shift back to the topic of Rey's force abilities. I really don't think she is Jedi on a mission. I'll be shocked if she is. I definitely think she is Force sensitive and because of that she has a lot of skills such as flying and fighting. the reason I feel like she is not a Jedi in hiding or on a mission is because of the title. The Force Awakens. I think she is very strong in the force and during the movie the force awakens in her. I could be wrong. I guess we will find out in December.

 

No. Kylo wants Finn or the saber. The staff has nothing to do with Plageius. It's as simple as something she needs to protect herself even with the blaster.

 

I don't think Kylo is after Finn or the saber as his primary goal. He wants Skywalker. As in Luke Skywalker. The saber is just a trail that leads to Luke. He's trying to find Luke and I think Rey knows where he is...that's why he captures and interigates her.
