So from left to right, we have Luke, Kenobi, Qui Gon... someone.. Maul and Vader...

Who is the one between Qui Gon and Maul?

Yeah it's fake. The hood and robes are from an image of Obi-Wan from Episode II or III.

That's Dooku. An extended image has Yoda on the far left and Palpatine on the far right.

Nothing is for sure until it's confirmed, but I don't think anything will ever be confirmed until you start seeing merchandise being leaked.
From a point of view, Anakin was doing what he thought was right in ROTS. As for Luke, he is much like Anakin in that he does what it takes to get what he wants accomplished. The Skywalker family doesn't abide to Jedi code, they add a tint to the light side of the Force.

Wouldn't that be Padawan Phil from the Jedi Dynasty? (epic fail)

But... for all intents and purposes... Luke IS the Jedi Council now... whatever he decides the Jedi are, that's what they are...

Qui Gon showed the failings of the Order, in that through his rebelliousness, he achieved greater power (the ability to merge with the Force and persist after corporeal death). Yoda recognized this, and sent Kenobi to meditate on this and learn from Qui Gon while in exile. One would assume, of there are a trilogy of movies coming out about Kenobi during this time of exile, that this will get explored a bit more. There is a whole team mapping this out at Disney, and if they are exploring this, then there is a reason... hopefully one greater than profit...

Be that all as it may... the fall of the Jedi order exemplified its flaws... and one would expect that Luke, if he were to attempt to rebuild the Jedi order, would attempt to do so in such a manner that would correct those issues.

There are 3 different story ideas for Kenobi movies, not necessarily a whole trilogy, rather 3 ideas for a single movie.

Still... anything covering Kenobi during that period would hopefully cover this as well...

Sure it's not canon anymore, but have you read John Jackson Miller's KENOBI novel? It's a fun read set on Tatooine durring Obi-Wan err... Ben's time in exile and trying to hide his past as a Jedi.

No, I never read it... one thing I never think got explained was the fact that Owen was Kenobi's brother... or so Kenobi mentions in the novelization of RoTJ. Then in PT we get Owen actually becoming Anakin's step-brother, and therefore Luke's uncle... did this ever get officially explained?

It's non-canon now but they retconned that as Obi-Wan having a brother named Owen but he is different than Owen Lars, Anakin's step-brother.
It was in one of the young-readers Obi-Wan novels where it's about a young Obi-Wan as Qui-Gon's padawan pre-PT.

I think when the original novel came out, Lucas never intended to produce a trilogy. But when he did decide to, he changed up certain aspects to make a better story. Even in The Empire Strikes Back novel Boba Fett was introduced as wearing armor similar to a group of evil warriors defeated by the Jedi in the clone wars. I suppose thanks to The Clone Wars you can say that was death watch, but it made me think, initially, that was their enemy in the wars.

Death Watch was probably made up to correlate with that.

I think that The Clone Wars did a lot of that, tying up loose ends that were not explained in the movies.

Did a good job too. Rebels will probably be doing that as well.
