Planets in Episode 8

Chandrilla, or wherever the New Republic and Leia go, is possible. I would expect some slight featuring of the new galactic politics, as the Republic should strike back against the First Order now, even though their only military answer lies with the Resistance now that their fleet is destroyed.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a return to any of the OT planets, brief or otherwise.

Coruscant will be seen at some point, if not in VIII then in IX, I would think. I could see them avoid it altogether though, but the home of the Jedi Order, the previous capital Temple, is still there, and I could see Luke make a trip there for some reason.

 

Chandrilla shows up as canon on Wookiepedia, Mon Mothma's home world. Looks Earth-like so it wouldn't quell the folks who thought the TFA planets were dull.

I would LOVE if we saw Jedi or Sith ruins on any planet. With the galaxy so short on force sect and force users, temples and ruins are the main source of knowledge left.

I should add that I'm not a fan of Coruscant but returning there or Naboo would be s little way of saying "I know the PT sucked but these planets are still around and important."

 

I definitely want to see Coruscant in either VIII or IX. It would be cool if its in ruins and no longer has any government.

No doubt the planet that Rey found Luke on will appear in VIII. TFA raises several questions about it and it's part of a major cliffhanger. I'm curious about what it's called and what its history is (someone says that it's the first Jedi Temple).

Maybe if Snoke proves to be connected to Palpatine in some way, the final battle against him (the climax of IX) could occur on Naboo, the planet where everything began.

 

I want Leia to relocate the Resistance to Naboo now that the First Order knows about D'Qar.

 

I've always wanted to see Nar Shadda make it to the big screen

 

I'd love to finally see Corellia.

 

There are a lot of planets I'm interested in seeing. But my real desire is to see ancient ruins of the Jedi and Sith orders. I like it when the environment is steeped in mythology. They do this a lot in Clone Wars. But it's largely been withheld from us in the films unless i was supposed to have glimpsed something at the Jedi temple on Coruscant. They are shooting in Mexico near the ruins so that's promising.

 

Well i'm pretty sure we wont't be seeing Coruscant.

 

I wanna see some Darkside/sinister Planets like Moraband (I think it's the canon version of Korriban) or Malachor 5 (the VD says Kylo got his lightsaber from there). I would love to see Corellia and Coruscant too!

 

Me too. But, like Alderaan, I feel like it's going to perpetually be taken for granted.

 

I want to see some old and some new planets.
Of the old planets I would really like to see Naboo and Coruscant.

As for the new planets, I want planets that look unique, something that we have not seen before.

Felucia had the most original flora on a Star Wars planet IMO. I actually think when Clone Wars went there, they made it more boring.

But any of the above would be awesome really. I particularly like the bamboo forests because it harkens back to martial arts movies.

Maybe Snoke's homeworld is a darkside planet full of ruins and steeped in mythology. We know from the novelization that Snoke is an alien from the Unknown Regions, so his homworld would be fun to see.

 

Oh interesting. I knew it confirmed he wasn't human. But not that he's from the Unknown Regions. Well that sure opens up the location possibilities!

Anyone know the galactic map well enough to know which region Luke's hermit planet was in?

 

It's impossible to tell from the map that they have in TFA because it's 3D.

Yavin 4 , it's got ancient temples,.lush forests, old rebellion gear, and it's Poe Dameron's home planet.
