Very true. Maybe they have merged the Royal Guards from the old EU with the Inquisitors of the new EU. Would be cool to see these characters reimaged as Inquisitors.

I noticed that the Ren figure has two lightsaber hands. Maybe this is bc he uses two hands on the broadsword when fighting?

Lackey: "Well.....there's that Plagueis thing that was something of an afterthought when viewing Episode 3.....maybe?"

Actually, I too hope that Plagueis is the main villain in that I'd like to see ALL of the films relate. I know the prequels were lesser-than, but they came from a good place I think. To have absolutely no reference to them would be a shame. REAL reference though, not just "remember that Jar Jar dope? Yeah. Dope."

Better yet. Finn is about to do something stupid and Rey goes "Don't go all Jar Jar on me now homie." THAT would kill.

Clever girl! Having someone 'conceived by the dark side' would totally mirror the prequel trilogy. I never thought of this, but that would be radical beyond belief!

Someone not looking to become a Sith, but just is somehow compelled by the dark side of the Force to do this thing. To DO THIS THING!!

That would be pretty sweet if you ask me. I am no PT fan, but I don't want it to be completely ignored to the point where "yeah, if you want to catch up with Star Wars, just skip the first three....they don't mean anything," you know? I'd like it all to have a reason to exist.

to start, the Topps card says pretty clearly that HE is igniting HIS light saber, so unless we're all hoping for a Mary-Martin-style-Peter-Pan like thing, let's drop the possibility of Kylo Ren being a girl.

as for putting things into a tailspin with something unexpected, i like that idea! i have my reservations about this being Adam Driver's character; i know that he's been rumored as the villain for a looong time, and has yet to be seen in character, but i think it could be smoke and mirrors on JJ/Disney's part. i think it's a small chance, but for the sake of fun/argument...

i think it's important to note how different our first glimpse at Kylo Ren was from the toy that was leaked yesterday. like you said, the trailer shows a stooping, almost sneaking(?) figure that's fairly slim. the toy image, however, shows a large person standing up straight. also, if the first leaked picture of the cross-guard saber is legit, then what's with the change in mask design? sure, maybe one was an older version or something, but it's a discrepancy all the same. maybe these are two different villains?

With Hood. I definitely think this is Kylo. With added color it just fits the trailer shot to a T.

 

I'm still convinced the the cross lightsaber forrest wondere, and the figure prototype, as well the leaked art of the samurai mask... are of different characters... maybe 3, but most likely 2.

 

i think the figure and Kylo Ren may be different, but the mask really looks like the mask on the figure.

that does look a lot closer to the original leaked image with the hood on... nice work, man!
